I guess I am just too old to enjoy watching professed SDA pastors, staff, etc., wearing wedding rings the size of large dinner ringers in 4* golf courses. Many of the women could be selling cosmetics/jewelry at a Macy's store. Some of their dresses are so short it detracts from the 'gospel' being presented to the congregation. Costly suits, ties, clips, jewelry and fashion dresses seem to be status quo. I can appreciate and understanding the ritualized nature of performing a 'show' for a World audience. Maybe, just maybe, a very small amount of makeup but I wonder if this was a concern of Mrs. White? To trivialize it regarding size of congregation or mass is a deflection not worthy of mentioning. What was, and is important the message! Would she recognize the Church community? I don't know; the reader of this blog must make that decision. A week doesn't go by that I don't try to watch different sermons from different SDA churches, from Andrews to Hawaii. Cultures notwithstanding, I thought, at least H.M.S. Richards Sr (& Jr.) taught athat we were a people that were 'peculiar-belonging exclusively to-the 'Chosen' I was discouraged by the 'folk' group that sings between or at the first of the Services; they're loud-their instruments drown out the singer(s), and at often times, they are miserably off tune-especially the female lead: she's just loud. This last week her dress (the cut-long in back-short in front)is somewhat fashionable but it had a negative impact. These clothes are fashioned to create sensuality I would like to say that everyone has a right to an opinion but it doesn't mean that the opinion is 'right'. In my life of 70 years I have found that opinions are like flatulence: most are nauseous-especially mine; but I was a U.S.Marine (back when Jesus was a Corporal) Everyone always has room to 'grow'; room for improvement, and that...
Read moreI wrote this last night, November 15th 2020 and it was deleted, not by me, so I am reposting it and will continue to do so.
I have been attending this church on and off for 11 years. I bounced between church’s for a long time. Took my child to sabbath school almost every Sabbath for over 1 year and only one teacher knew his name. It’s very hard to say but 3 member of the whole church took time to be friendly with me and try and get to know me. I have personally witnessed a pastor make fun of a gentleman in the congregation one Sabbath morning. The only reason why I kept coming back was Randy Roberts.
I have requested numerous times since June 2019 to be baptized and my children dedicated. Shockingly I only heard back from a pastor on July 22nd, one time and never again. Second request I never heard back from anyone. Third request I heard from someone twice and never again. 4th and final time I called that same person, left a voice message and never heard from. I am STILL not baptized.
It should NEVER be this difficult to be baptized/child dedication. I’m not one to ever write a review on a church but this one is missing the mark by miles. I will not recommend it to anyone. If you want a friendly, welcoming church, please try another one.
It is extremely sad because pastor Randy Roberts is an incredible pastor! His sermons have helped me spiritually in ways I can’t explain. I would be honored for him to baptize me. I still listen to his sermons every Sabbath he preaches but will not attend this church simply because the...
Read moreEnter to worship, depart to serve. Come and experience divine peace. However if you are a core Adventist who still believes in "the faith of our fathers" "thus says the Lord" or "how our fathers passed it down unto us" get ready for some "culture" shock, be ready to stomach nonsense, be prepared for some strange things, and appearances that will make you ask yourself if you are still in your church. It is no longer the typical Adventist Church as the missionaries brought it. All reflecting the "it doesn't matter" syndrome spreading like wild fire across the church worldwide. The consolation is that the Lord is...
