If you have a child with you and you need to get dental work...don't bring them here you'll waste your time. I've been to 3 dentist office in 4 years and I'm always asked if my son will be with me. I understand there's sometimes kids who don't behave but don't assume my child is one of them. And when I tell you my kid is a calm kid then you need trust and see how it goes afterwards.
I get to the front desk and First Lady asks if I have someone to watch him. Which is a common question and I assure her that he's a calm kid and he'll be fine and she says okay. My son wasn't making any noise, wasn't running around. And no, I don't have someone to watch him because mother works and I work in the afternoon. It's the only time I can take care of my needs.
Then I have nurse come by to tell me we need to do X-rays and if I have someone to watch him. Again I say no I don't but he can stay off to the side while I'm doing the X-rays. I get it, it's radiation. Me and him have done this before he knows what to do. She tells me to hold on while she asks and proceeds to take 10 minutes doing whatever it was she was doing (does it take that long to ask a question?) and approaches me and just says okay I'm ready for you.
Well I assumed we were good and I tell my son who is calmly sitting down watching a movie on my phone to walk with me. As we're walking some other lady receptionist gets up (mind you she's in the back and not sure what her Tuesday was like but girl sit down) and tells me oh he can't go back there...
I'm taken a back trying to figure out what the hell is going on and what's the big issues I thought this was sorted out. I start arguing with them we already went over this and she says because we don't want him running around and I'm telling you're assuming he's like that, look at him..he's doing nothing but standing next to me. So I have him, a 3 YEAR OLD... sit down by himself in the waiting area meanwhile I thought I was just gonna do the X-rays and then I could bring him back there.
Nope. We go to a room where they have two chairs and I said oh are we doing the x rays here and the mute nurse says yes and then cleaning and I said okay well can I bring him after the X-rays and she says no we can't. So basically I was gonna leave him out there by himself the whole time.
I asked what's the big deal, why can't I just have him sit there...of course another nurse intercedes and starts telling me AGAIN..well we don't want him running around...
Guys! Communicate...hell man...I've been through this at other offices. They accommodate. Okay. Not every kid is the same. Don't assume. Me and him have done this before. He knows to just sit and chill.
And "Business owner" don't tell me to call relations just so you guys don't get real feedback here for everyone else to see knowing relations isn't gonna do crap about these ladies attitudes.
My wife is an employee at Loma Linda University and I did not choose to go here.
Business owner, the front office has my number if you'd like to contact me. They know who I am. They won't forget this interaction and...
Read moreOMG, 2.5 years later and my dental work is still not complete. What started out as a $3200.00 quote as escalated to almost $5000.00. I've had 3 students, the first student Grace was HORRIBLE, I can't imagine that she was allowed to graduate. Even the staff dentists say that her crowns and restorative work is horrible. My fillings are mismatched, my teeth are discolored and I still have a cavity in my canine that she worked on. Her work was so horrible that the dentist asked her why she had accepted my case in the first place. After she graduated, and my work was left undone, I was given to another student by the name of Susan whom I absolutely loved, unfortunately for me, she only did my partial. I currently have a new student to finish up with my final crown. The student is nice, but I was so roughly man handled by the resident dentist in charge and the student, it was 2 weeks before I could even eat. To top it off, I have a metal allergy which is stated in my chart. Instead of taking a impression and putting on a resin temporary, the temporary placed was a generic called a tin can. I am allergic to most metals, especially aluminum. As a result, I had a severe reaction to the aluminum and after being in agony for 1 week had to go back on a emergency basis and have a proper resin temporary put on the tooth. I need more work, but after I have my permanent crown glued in, I'm not going to walk away, I'm going to RUN away. Oh, and what ever you do, do not pay in advance! I did and they sat on my money for almost 6 months Grace, my first student decided to forget to call me and concentrated on working on her other patients instead. If you are a masochist and don't mind having your jaw dislocated, or mind having a sponge stuck so far down your throat that you swallow it, go for it. If I knew then what I know now, I would have just had my uppers pulled and be done with it. With the shoddy work that I currently have, I doubt if my teeth will last 3 years. I have a nursing background and I am used to needles and injections do not bother me at all. If I had not paid for my work in advance, I would have bailed long ago. Because this crown is a redo, and I already paid for it, I must keep my appointment, but I intend to self medicate myself before going for my visit as I'm having anxiety attacks just thinking about it I would not recommend Loma Linda School of Dentistry for anything except extractions, and maybe dentures. Check out Yelps reviews. I'm not the only one who has had problem with this...
Read moreLoma Linda is such an enormous gift to its community and to those who go there from miles around. This is the best professional dental work I have ever had anywhere by the most caring students and the most conscientious teaching staff that could be possible. The price is an incredible value, really such a gift. I have had all of my dental work done at Loma Linda for more than 10 years. However, if you are in a hurry, and you believe their service should be an "in and out" convenience, you're in the wrong place. For an enormous savings and for top quality work, which should never be taken for granted, don't expect that it won't take longer, that you won't have to wait a bit longer and that your care will more conscientious that you might have wanted. These incredibly caring students and the school are giving you a gift, but it will cost you some time, some waiting and some patience. You might have to wait for student breaks and testing, and you have to wait for their work to be checked out completely. I consider the travel and the wait a very small price to pay for the quality of the work and caring I receive. I regretted that I referred a friend who had little to do with his time, but was always upset by how long things took and how his needs weren't met instantly. He deserved to pay the high prices he was charged and the problems he complained about in the dental office that rushed him in and out and always found one more thing to charge him for and I told him to go back there. Loma Linda is a great gift if you remember that are not the priority; the student being trained is and you are next -with that in mind, you will receive the best care from students who can't do enough, and from supervising professors who allow no mistakes. I have never heard anyone complain about the price or the quality of the care, once the work is finished. And I am very grateful for the quality care I have received all...
