Schweiger Ranch — Attraction in Lone Tree

Thoroughly disappointed. We reserved spots today for their Christmas market and activities. We arrived at 315 our reservation was from 3 to 5. Lots of the activities were closed by 4. Face painting stopped taking people at 4 and they were supposed to be there til 430. We were even in line well before then. Hot chocolate closed... We were told when asked that the horse carriage rides were until 430 to 445 when in fact it closed at 4. Missed out on that as well. Santa closed at 4 too. We...

Among the earliest in what would become Douglas County, this 1870s frontier farm is designated a state historical site. It is a good example of a middle class subsistence farm, held by the original family until the 1970s. Parts of the original buildings have been restored. This is well worth the visit. This area is awesome for trail running. It branches to east-west trail or you can go to the bluffs from there. Incredible views. Shweiger ranch itself is also pretty awesome, if you have the chance to volunteer there, take it because it’s a cool aspect of Parker and if you want to give back to the community, there ain’t a bad...
