Some initial problems with corporate's response - but the LONE TREE, CO store is working toward a solution.
We purchased a bedroom set consisting of a bed, dresser, and mattress. The wrong bed was delivered and when I told the driver about the error, he told me to contact Living Spaces. The local store in Lone Tree, CO doesn't have a publicly available phone number, so we contacted corporate "customer service" that same day. We were told the bed we actually ordered was out of stock and our only recourse was to either keep furniture we did not want or pay a 10% restocking fee to return the bed and dresser and that they would not accept a return on the mattress we did not need. Critically, we would not have ordered the mattress if we were not also ordering the bed. We asked to escalate the issue and were directed to contact the local store. We were told the local store didn't have a phone number and that a store representative would call us, or we could visit the store.
I drove 45 minutes to the store in an effort to resolve the problem. At the store, I was told a General Manager would contact me. The manager contacted me and gave me his assurances that the bed we wanted would be delivered in a couple months and in the interim, we could use the bed that was mistakenly provided. The store's assurances made me willing to accept the order and, provided the right bed is delivered in the next couple months, I'll be satisfied. So, for now, it's wait and see.
Overall, there's a lot lacking in terms of the corporate office's customer service department's response - they really were not willing to address the issue and tried to punt. But the local store in Lone Tree, Colorado worked toward finding a viable solution. So long as it works out, kudos to the local store. We were looking for a sectional and we found one, a sales person helped us with fabric, color, etc. This was around 1PM on Sunday. The sectional was around $3,000.00 and you can't pay half or a percentage, they want it all even though it won't be delivered for a few months. The gal went over the purchase and I asked if we change our mind, can we cancel the order and she said yes but there would be a surcharge as they would have already started on the sectional etc. We left and shopped other stores just to make sure when I noticed the small print on the invoice. If we cancel the same day, before 8:00PM we get a full refund. If we cancel after 8:00PM we forfeit $25% of $3,000.00 or $750.00. Are you kidding me??? We went back to the store around 5PM same day and cancelled the sofa as we did not like that stipulation. It has been 5 days now and no refund. I called the store and I was told I should get it no later than the 20th?? They took my $3000 in a nanosecond but now I have to wait 10 days to get a refund?? Are they doing this to every single customer in every store and making interest on our money? We live in a digital electronic age. I can send money and receive money in seconds, I can walk into any business and return a item and it's been credited back before I get to my car. Yet Living Spaces want's to hold onto my $3,000.00 for almost two weeks? I will NEVER EVER use that store again. They hang onto your money for 10 days and if you order something at 7:45PM on any given day, you better 100% be sure you want it because at 8:01PM 16 minutes later, you are losing a good chunk of your refund AND you won't see a penny of the remainder...
   Read moreREAD before buying long story short! Purchased a bed frame in lone tree. There was the same bed frame in Thornton location myself and wife were going to purchase same day. Talked into buying from lone tree delivery would only take a couple days… sure! Got an email next day after purchase that bed frame was not in store will have to check at the warehouse and it was pushed out to almost 3 weeks! We finally get the bed frame and two hinges were missing on a side panel! All i was told was 3 options. Either i get sent back my delivery fee of $59 keep the bed as is! Option 2, i would find a different bed but keep in mind there was no more of the bed frames we did purchase so my wife found one and they wanted us to pay the difference still! Even after taking over 3 weeks to delivery and then get the bed frame and not have the hinges on the side panel! Option 3, get my refund back! If i were you I’d make sure they have the stuff in stock! Cause we were in line to buy furniture from them in the future! NOT ANYMORE. Today! They finally picked up the bed at 3pm lol it’s October 16th and we ordered the bed September 20th i believe. I’m sure they will take their time sending my money back as well!
