Depending on your attire and mobility, you can experience a few things at Bronson Canyon. If you are with your family and you don't want that strenuous of a walk, the tunnel itself is a quick walk up a wide, easily traversed dirt road. I believe that you could even get a wheelchair to the tunnel with a bit of work (it is up a hill and there are bits of gravel here and there). If you are, however, willing to put in some hard work and are wearing clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, Bronson Canyon has one of the best panoramic views of Los Angeles up the sharp incline surrounding the tunnel. You are able to see the Hollywood Sign, the Griffith Observatory, the ocean, downtown L.A., and surrounding cities. It's also quite peaceful up at the top. It's quite strenuous, so not many people do it. I've been twice now and it has been totally worth it. I will repeat, though, do not do this if you aren't ready for sharp inclines, being next to a cliff face, or sliding back down next to the cliff face when you're done. Although I have done this in shoes that did not have any traction, I do not recommend it. Overall, it's an amazing place that can be experienced in different ways by all kinds of...
Read moreParking is terrible. Cars get broken into on a regular basis. Park is in terrible shape and not maintained by the city. Numerous dogs off leash pose a threat to small children. Homeless people are sleeping on the picnic tables. Only one porta potty and it is filled with human waste. UPDATE: Summer is here and the crowds have brought new proplems. For some reason dog owners feel they can unleash their dogs creating dangerous situations for children and other dogs. Also Parking has spilled out into neighboring residential streets and LA Parking Enforcement cruises the area and the park ticketing cars on a regular basis. If hiking take extra water as it does get hot now. Foreign tourists continue to smoke in the park throwing cigarette butts on the ground creating a fire hazard and toxic waste for dogs and children. Best time to visit is during the week, stay away on weekends. Ferndell Park area is much better choice. UPDATE: The Bat Caves are closed and fenced off and don't resemble anything like the films and TV shows they have been seen on. Bruce Wayne/Batman have retired and moved to...
Read moreWhat can you say about a park? It’s got everything you want little bit of nature to explore and a cave that’s closed, but there’s a big hole in the fence so you can walk in there at your own risk. You can’t climb the cliffs anymore because during the health crisis people were getting stuck and it would take the rescue teams to come out and rescue them. At the top, you can eventually get to the Hollywood sign, but it takes a while. I think it takes over an hour. There are outside toilets, their maintain regularly, and there is range presence in the area as well as parks workers, there is a playground that’s not too bad in closed at the beginning of Bronson Road entry into the park. In the spring, there’s so many bees that they hum throughout the valley and you can actually feel them humming and hear them really trippy and cool at the same time . All in all, it’s a good park. They shot the opening scene to the 60s TV show Batman at the Bronson Cave. As well as...
