This is a lovely place to quickly get away if you know where it is. The path with the tall trees is rather short and leads to a landing with rocks and benches to sit on. There's a beautiful view.
Parking is available on the street. There's a STEEEEP path to the right of commonwealth Ave, but I parked on North Commonwealth Avenue and walked up that, turned right on the paved path, and Cedar Grove was off the paved path on the right instead.
It's just fine to wear tennis shoes.
Don't make the same mistake and put it in your maps! It'll take you a 30 minute's walk away (to a closed off road). Just map to the tip of the mountain on North...
