The 70s called. It wants its playground back.

Seriously, the playground has minimal features and was likely built in the 70s. I suspect the same hasn't been replaced since then, so it has turned into a mixture of sand and dirt. Not enough sand to dig in. There is also this random decorative cannon structure and a single metal slide in this large sanded (dirted?) area. Very bizarre. There were also multiple pieces of glass, one literally right beneath one of the swings. 😧

However, they have an abundance of trash cans. They are everywhere. A ton of picnic tables too and lots of local wildlife (birds, lizards, chipmunks).

The bathrooms are gross and there was a homeless guy with a full blown mattress next to the bathroom. So I'm guessing he's able to live there without issue most of the time. I was ever so slightly on edge walking around him with my 3 year old girl, as it looked like he might have been mentally unstable.

There are also 3...

So disappointed. I used to hike here as a kid and thought I'd take my little boy to show him "where Daddy used to hike." First we visited the Southern entrance where we hiked up the trail to find the train tracks fenced off then back down to find the bathrooms locked. Next we tried the Northern entrance where the trails we're littered with broken beer bottles and there wasn't a single rock not tagged with gang graffiti. The bathroom was filthy, but at least it was open. The picnic tables were empty except for one large group blasting narco music. Sadly, Chatsworth Park has become another reminder of how the SFV had gone into the sewer thanks to a certain...

A very expansive outdoor experience for young and old alike. One of the last local parks where the restrooms are open 24 hours. The hiking opportunities presented at Chatsworth Park are outstanding! The Rocky terrain and mountainous territory are more than just something to consider and I recommend that anyone, attempting to scale the hillsides in order to get to higher ground and the outstanding veiws to be admired there, be in good enough shape to make it back down the hillsides as the trip down the hill is, at least, as treaturous as is the...

Beautiful, quiet park. I took my boys to test out their new scooters, and they were happier than they've been at any park, to my surprise. The playground is very simple, but the tree canopies and huge rocks to climb created a whole afternoon of exploration for them. It was unexpected and wonderful; we took some great photos and made a new memory. Will return for sure!

Probably the worst park in Chatsworth. Always has sketchy people hanging around and just looking at you. The picnic area isn't very nice and the playground isn't anything special either. Best part is probably the basketball court since it's close to the parking lot in case you get sketched out by the people there
