This is a great camp!! My grandson has attended camps all over the Los Angeles area, and this is one of our favorites. And the cost is very reasonable. I like the fact that it is somewhat "old school," taking boys out of their "electronics zone" and into games, crafts and sports. Divided into age groups, the boys sleep in cute rustic cabins, but spend most of their time outside and/or other areas of the camp. They do fun, sometimes wacky, games and crafts, get dirty, and just have fun. Each week has a theme, and they go on a field trips to amusement parks, baseball games, etc. My only regret is that I didn't discover this camp earlier. It is uncomplicated, unpretentious, undemanding -- very wholesome, and kid-supportive, and in four years of attending multiple weeks per year, my grandson has never had a complaint, and I have never experienced any...
Read moremy 12 year old son just returned from a week at this camp. I wanted to write a review as when I was looking for info, there wasn't that much out there. I found it wonderful. The kids were safe, and had a wonderful time. The adults in charge seemed quite competent, and they have the system down to a science. My child learned to live, work and cooperate with all kinds of kids, and I was pleased to see how much he "grew" in this one week's time. He said the food was great. My son had just had braces put on and they were so sweet when I asked about some accomodations. I feel it was a very good value for the money, and they were very well supervised on their field trip (during his session they went to Universal Studios). They do outdoor games. swim, hike, archery, ropes course, zipline, camp fires,...
Read moreAt first we had heard great things about this camp. I have no doubt that it is great, however it seems that COVID-19 has hindered many of the activities that are usually available. Also, their upgrades may not be complete at this point, since my son had no mention of zip lining as the brochure mentions and since they had to go to an alternate pool. My son just came back yesterday and it sounded as if he had fun being away, but when we got to the more critical questions about his experience, it sounded like it was more like day summer camp (I really mean babysitting or after school enrichment)with the added bonus of you get to stay away. Again, maybe I am being very critical about this, but I have high expectations when I hear stay away camp. I welcome any questions that I may have missed...
