My home for over two decades. I lived across the street and have spent many days weekly hiking in the early morning. The hiking trails get right to the point. Meaning, you will get an excellent workout in to condition, your body along with being surrounded by motivated people that have made Runyon lifestyle. The park is beautiful, and it’s worlds away from the chaos at the bottom of the hill. In my opinion, it is a true escape for Angelenos to get away from LA. I can’t recommend this place enough to people, it truly has been my saving grace daily to keep balanced. People do have their dogs with them, so do be prepared as it is dog friendly. Read moreI enjoy coming to Runyon since it's close to home and also a good quick hike. I usually do about 3 miles and I start at the top then make my way back up. I tend to go at 6am so it's mostly empty with a few regulars. Now that's winter it's still a bit dark when I get there but it's awesome to see the sunrise and start your day early by being active.
