My name is Thomas L. Goodwin. I worked in the private sector for decades. I was not ready to retire and I wanted to do something different. I wanted to have more responsibility for my welfare economically, financially, and enough room for me to leave my personal and social footprint of my work. So, I explored options and decided to become an independent contractor owner and operator carrier for different companies. So, I made that decision. Next step was to get the required vehicle/van that I needed to pursue my goals and make my decision a reality. Well, what I experienced was making a decision is one thing and completing the process to materialize it was another thing.
I started visiting different cars and trucks dealers and I learned very quick that I could not do what I wanted to do because I was not working at that particular time. There was a gap between the bridges. Some automobile dealers and financial creditors that I talked to did not want to extend a path from one side of the gap to the other side of the gap. This extension would have allowed me to get across societal gap. So, at this point I was at a standstill. At this point, I had to rethink my personal sincerity and will power. So, I decided to continue to move forward into the unknown. So, as I continue to search online I ran across Classic Volkswagen Gastonia. After all of the rejections that I had received from other automobile dealers, I had no reason to think that this dealer was any different from the others. So, my intention was just to leave two or three sentences and let Classic Volkswagen Gastonia know what I was trying to do and to let it know that I might not be able to meet the requirements to do what I was trying to do based on previous conversations with previous automobile dealers. So, the next morning Ms. Robinson called and asked about the information that I left with Classic Volkswagen Gastonia. I acknowledged the information and explained that I do not think that I will be able to meet the requirements to by the van that I needed. I explained that I was just inquiring and I did not want to drive to Gastonia and waste her time. I explained my income and my situation and Ms. Robinson said well we might be able to work with that. I said well all right I will come and talk to you. But as I was driving to Gastonia I just did not believe she could help me but I had to continue the trip because everyone else had rejected my application. So, after arriving to Classic Volkswagen Gastonia Leroy approached me and I asked for Ms. Robinson. So, I waited. Then Leroy came back and we started completing an application. Then Anthony came and asked a few questions. Then next Eugene came and introduced himself. So, they all started working with me and at this point I started experiencing a different automobile dealer environment. I continue to work with them in a proactive manner. But, I was waiting for that moment for one of them to say we cannot do it but we will continue to work on it and we will keep your application on file. Well, that moment never did arrive. Instead, they told me that my application was accepted and they continued to process the paperwork and today the required van that I need to be an Independent contractor owner and operator is parked in my front yard. So, today I have the required van that I need thanks to god and thanks to Ms. Robinson.
So, if you need an automobile and you are not sure whether you can afford one or not afford one. I encourage you not to make that personal decision alone. Call Classic Volkswagen Gastonia and asked to speak to Ms. Robinson. Tell her Thomas Goodwin sent you! If you really and truly want or need an automobile Ms. Robinson at Classic Volkswagen Gastonia will help you to get one. Classic Volkswagen Gastonia offers a different customer experience and a different customer environment. Ask for Ms. Robinson and be the next buyer to experience what I experienced at Classic Volkswagen...
Read moreThe first time I stopped in was during the pandemic, and I was struggling at the time to find a manual ( i will only drive a manual ) đ . They had a passat TDI that met my needs. However, with finicky laws being passed around about banning diesels, I was concerned and passed on the opportunity. Since then, I came in 2 or 3 more times to buy parts and ask service questions since I traditionally serviced my own vehicles. The sales floor is always immaculate, and the courtesy and general atmosphere is on point. I had gotten a 2012 GLI from carvana and while many aspects of the purchase was above my expectations i was also sold a completely wrong sized rim for a spare and had several other inconsistencies with their closing of the deal. When I finally brought the GLI into gastonia, it was a little bitter sweet. I was hoping to be able to service my 2012 jetta GLI only to find out that it needed massive engine repairs. The bill was worth 1/3 of what i still owed on the vehicle, and it was just unrealistic to repair the car. I owned it for 2 years and went from 38k miles to 85k. It's basically 50k miles in 2 years. I got my moneys worth, and I loved it. I decided it was monetarily advantageous to purchase something new. I have loved volkswagens since i first saw a wolfensburg edition trim package with their classic plaid colour way back when I was in high school. It just looked so classy but also refined and clean. Dimitri and I had talked once prior to my arrival a few days ago, and when I saw him again he caught up with me since my last visit and I told him I was fearful that this was the end of the road for my GLI. He helped me feel calm, and even after I got the bill from service, he was confident that he could help me find a new car. I have moderate credit, and I was willing to trade the GLI in since there was no way I could safely drive it home. He offered me way more than I thought I would get for my GLI, and he helped work the price of the brand new 2023 Golf GTI with all the add ons into a budget that allowed me to purchase my very first brand new vehicle. Chris in finance was quick, effective, and as he said "100% from the beginning till the end" with his information and his meticulous process of explaining all the details and particulars of my gap, service warranty, and my loan company so that I was completely informed on what I was buying. The man left no stones unturned. After the transaction was done I was about to pay for the scan service on the GLI when Muhammad came over and paid for it so that I was free from the last bill the GLI was hanging over me. This dealership went above and beyond. I have dealt with 2 VW dealerships in Pennsylvania as well as one in south carolina and they all attempted to steal from me, lied to me about the services provided or just didnt listen to anything I said. Dimitri, Chris, and Muhammad gave me the gift of a new car that I didn't even think I would have qualified for and helped to get me out of the never ending bills the GLI left me. They listened, they answered questions thoughtfully, and helped to explain anything I was still uncertain about. They saw that I loved VWs, and they heard my concerns, and they treated me with respect. I can not adequately expressed how much their compassion for doing a quality job meant to...
Read moreOn March 19th 2022, my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Chad, Sales Associate at Classic Volkswagen of Gastonia. We were in the market for a new vehicle and the dealership location was convenient and within our radius of locations to shop from. This was the first stop of 4 dealerships we had planned on visiting that weekend. Our plans were to check out each one, and then determine off experience and vehicle availability where to make the purchase for my wife. Upon arrival we had a few moments to tour the lot and determine the vehicle we were interested in test driving. As we walked into the dealership and were given the pleasure of meeting Chad part of the Sales Team. While we were waiting for the keys to be delivered, Chad talked with us about his love and commitment to his family, food, and where to get a good beer. One thing to mention we did not speak a word about the car during the first several minutes before we entered the vehicle. Just before starting the test drive, he asked if we had any questions before we started. During the test drive which we also noticed he did not say a word during the first part of the test-drive. We appreciated the fact that Chad allowed time for the driver to take in the experience and listen to how the car performs. About halfway back from the test drive we resumed our conversation about items around the area to check-out. This was a truly enjoyable conversation; not like someone asking about your favorite food, but this is who Chad is and my passion to help you make the best decision even if that means missing the sale. Once back I had a list of 6 questions, of which I already knew answers for the model we were interested in. Chad was honest well prepared and answered all but (2). The outstanding (2) Chad was unable to answer he honestly said; âI apologize I donât have that answer but will get the Service Manager to come out and meet you a get you the answers you needâ. He then did just that; rather than try and push the sales paperwork in our direction. The Service Manager came out and Chad introduced us and then proceeded to ask in front of us the questions he could not answer. Which was impressive, he remembered and took ownership to get the answers we needed, that day. My wife was so impressed with his performance and professionalism we decided to make the purchase (plans out the window). When making significant purchases, you expect honesty, quality, and genuine salesmanship. We did encounter a significant issue around promised dealer preparations outside of Chadâs control which was a deal breaker. However, after an overnight deliberation we knew Chad well-earned the deal. His true character that understands how to connect with people, makes him invaluable. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Chad and highly recommend anyone in the market for a vehicle to just stop by and talk with Chad. He will get the job done and respect your time while giving you that red carpet...
