Carolina Fresh Farms — Attraction in Lyman

I'm here just to tell of my experience. I went in on a Saturday to pick up one pallet of sod for a friend. I went in and I wasn't greeted by anyone. Their was only 3 customers in the store at that time. I went to the front desk and it wasn't until I made eye contact with the guy behind the desk that I received assistance. He gave me paperwork and told me to go to the back and to the left! Huh? I drove around back and asked a guy on a lift where I needed to go. He placed the pallet on my trailer which is (10x5) with 14 size tires! Not a small trailer at all. The weight of the sod was so heavy that he couldn't put the full weight on the trailer without the entire trailer being dismantled. I have hauled mulch, trees, sod, furniture, kitchen appliances and lawn equipment on that trailer for over 20yrs! I went back inside to tell the staff of the issue. My friend had already called back up to the store to speak with the staff. The Guy in the office was so loud with my friend that I could hear his conversation from the lobby. I went and stood at his door. He asked me if that was my trailer outside his door. He immediately went outside and said that my trailer would hold up. I informed him of what I saw when the one pallet of sod was placed on the trailer. He then said that I just need to put air in my tire! Huh? Maybe I should have informed him that I drive trucks for a living and that putting too much weight on a trailer is unsafe and dangerous. But I guess getting the item off of their property was more important. Safety, Professionalism, and being Courtesy was not high with this Staff. There are too many other companies in this area that offer similar products. I WILL NEVER shop here in the future. But that is just the experience...

Sold me a bad pallet of sod. It was full of ants... I called and mentioned it to them. The guy response was he never heard that before. The sod literally turned completely BRITTLE & BROWN Within DAYS... I called back to inquire why ... the lady response was they aren’t selling fescue sod right now because it doesn’t do good in the heat. So my question to her is why would they sell it to me the week prior. She couldn’t respond and told me someone will call me back.... VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.... why just take someone money because you needed to get rid of the pallet of sod... I’m a single mother and every dollar counts for me. I feel like they used me to get rid of a pallet of sod they knew...

Looked at their website, seemed like they had a great line up of products. Came in to ask questions to figure out how to properly build a retaining wall. Ended up speaking with Joe. In the middle of me still asking questions, he saw there more customers said "I hope that answers your questions." Then walked off to assist the other customers, so I ended up just leaving. I still had a couple other questions to make sure I was on the right track. Mind you, I hadn't been here for more than 5 mins, so it's not like I was taking up tons of his time. He also didn't seem interested in listen to the specifics of my situation (setting up a stable pad for a large pool).
