This was our go to for Chinese food for almost a decade, but we haven’t ordered here in at least 5 years… only bc their egg drop soup isn’t great (at all). Here recently our current go to Chinese takeout joint has been flopping so I decided to give Hong Xing another go. Big mistake!!! Not only was the egg drop soup terrible (although that was kind of expected) but so was everything else. Our fried rice was mushy with almost no taste at all & the chicken fried rice was missing the chicken. The sweet and sour chicken was dry and well beyond over cooked while the sauce had the overwhelming flavor of pickle juice. The egg rolls were chewy like they had been nuked in the microwave one to many times & even the fried egg noodles were terribly over cooked. My husband will eat just about anything with very little complaint, even when it’s not very good. His motto, “just trying to make a turd”. So, when he threw out over 1/2 of his meal I knew it was bad. This place used to be a solid choice (other than soup issue) but it has definitely gone down hill. Idk why we can’t get any good Chinese food...
Read moreLook, I don't give 5 stars generally. Not many deserve, as I consider it a perfect experience. They get probably my only 5, and there's a reason. It's a hole in the wall and they have not had dine in since 2020. The lady that runs the joint is on point. Anything out of their fryers has this extra special crisp to it and should be enjoyed right away and hot. Too long under that plastic and it is gone. The chicken on a stick aka teriyaki is one the the best I've had anywhere and I get it at every Chinese restaurant to see differences. They come out of that fryer too and the sugars on the marinade carmelized to a almost burnt perfection but not. I love LoMain and it's the only thing my kids like. It is a little greasy but delicious and has super long noodles! No joke kids love it and we measured one at 3 ft. 5 stars? I just like it, good food ,fast friendly...
Read moreThis place is nasty. The lady at the counter took my money, touched the register and went to the refrigerator and grabbed 2 egg rolls with her bare hands and saw nothing wrong with it. I asked did she not wash her hands or use gloves, she said they have gloves (which she nor the cook was wearing) and use hand sanitizer. She never used the hand sanitizer. When again asked if she washes her hands, she picked up a damp rag, which she tried to get me to touch, and said it has soap on it and she rubbed her hands on the rag. I know unsanitary things can happen anywhere but she saw nothing wrong with her hands touching food. Someone is going to get sick. I would not recommend this place or step foot in...
