LaHaye Recreation & Fitness Center — Attraction in Lynchburg

Worst customer service I’ve ever seen, which is shocking coming from a Christian university. It’s a bunch of friends in a clique and they roll their eyes/talk down to you for no reason. They also randomly close things constantly like the hot tub, but then you’ll see Liberty staff swimming in there. On top of that, it’s always dirty but that’s the least of my concerns compared to how rude and unprofessional their workers are.

One time, I had five minutes left in my workout before they closed and was finishing my set. The girl told me to leave immediately. I told her I would like to finish this set please and she yelled, “fine! But when I get back around here you better be gone!”

Another time, I had a guest pass and asked if the gal at the desk could please let me out as I was leaving. She ignored me so I said, “excuse me, could you please let me out?” A little bit louder. “I was DOING SOMETHING!!” She hollered.

I’m addition to both of these occasions, just the mere tone and inflection of several workers is constantly disrespectful. They suddenly shut down guest passes, so I couldn’t get one while in town as alumni. I asked to speak with the manager, and Sara(h) refused. “No, actually you can’t. You can talk to me.” Another person who’s been blatantly disrespectful is Will Dando. I don’t know what I did to deserve his mistreatment, but every time I see him when I go in to work out, he talks down to me like I’m the worst person alive.

I don’t know why Liberty as a Christian college would hire such a hateful group of staff. I hope that eventually, someone will recognize the real versions of these people and not whatever fake personas they are likely showing to their management. It’s really...

It is an excellent facility, or will be for most people. I mostly use the basketball courts but I wish they still had Table Tennis tables. They use to have them a few years back but got rid of them to make room for more equipment. As a national table tennis competitor This is personally very aggravating since there isn't a single other facility in the area that have them, so I (and others) go an hour to Roanoke to practice.

Sidenote: It is true that there are 3 tables in the Game Room on campus, but the Game room also happens to be closed throughout the summer and more limited hours...

Awesome gym. Should allow spouses of students though also the gym locker locks are terrible. Half of them work properly... Also to add. The gym was closed for over a week for "cleaning and repairs" but is still dirty... Also they need to invest in more cable accessory racks and weight racks. Looks very disorganized. Update- still very disorganized. When I come first thing in the morning the ropes and different handles are still all over the ground. No cleaning had been done over the time they are closed and no organization. Just waiting for a staph infection to wake...
