Ottawa Trail Woods — Attraction in Lyons Township

Love this trail youll find me here almost anytime. Been coming here for years, there's a nice trail where u can come across the river and chill there for a while. Same trail takes you by a small lake and you can spot beavers, red ear slider turtles, and snapping turtles in the water. You'll see deer here a lot, keep away, all sorts of birds cardinals, blue jays, hawks. It's a nice little spot to have a quick picnic or grill some burgers. Keeps the kids connected to...

Picnic Grove #2 with the shelter is not kept up at all. Broken glass and bottle caps everywhere. Not much grass mostly dirt, the shelter is dark and dirty. Had to try and clean up the mess myself the day before my event. Several transient people hanging out in the shelter and worst of all found several used condoms on the ground. That forest preserve like many others seems to be a hook up place for gay men. I'd look for another place to hold an event....

Good place to go camping. it's kind of good place to go fishing is searching for rare mushrooms. but right now in nice a serious repairs because of falling trees.
