We are local and got a room (2 Queen suite) here for the night to use the pool and have some fun with the kids. Next time, we will just get a day pass for the pool. The kids loved the pool! It was maintained well enough and the water temperature was pretty reasonable. They loved the slide and the hot tub. The 3 lifeguards though were the most bored individuals I have ever seen. Two sat against the wall by the door and one sat at the (closed) bar. In the cumulative 3 ish hours we were at the pool, they never moved. I'm not sure how any of them would have actually noticed anyone drowning as they were at least 10+ feet away from the actual pool. And two of them sat next to each other. What's the point of that?
The room was disappointing. To start with, at 10:45 pm, while we were sleeping, another guest actually opened our door! The banging against the "chain" (some sort of latch) woke us up. Good thing we put that latch on there. The front desk said they "erroneously made a key for our room". Ok, but they actually assigned them our room, while we were in it. HOURS after we checked in. It's not like the guests randomly chose our room. That definitely woke us up and we didn't get much sleep after that. Also, the air conditioner was making a dripping noise (my husband thought it was soothing, I found it annoying). There weren't enough bath towels for my family of five (room slept up to 6) and no spare pillows for the very thin, very uncomfortable pullout bed (which was fine for a 4 year old but anyone heavier would hate). Did find the blanket in the closet. We had to take pillows from the main beds. Also, for a hotel with a Waterpark, there was no hooks or clothesline in the shower to hang wet clothes. We hung a few from the shower head and the rest just dripped all over the bathroom. Yuck. Also, only a shower and not tub. Which was fine for us, but people with bath kids should take note. Loved the mirror in the bathroom and the Nightlight. Floor was also nicely updated. Shower had nice wall tile and I liked the angle of the shower so you didn't need a curtain or a door. But the grout in the floor was gross - both black and orange in spots when it was clearly supposed to be white. It really ruined the whole look as the rest of the bathroom was very nicely updated. Toilet was a powerful flusher. Bed was reasonably comfortable, but didn't have tables on both sides, so I had to plug in my husband's phone (and turn off the alarm). Carpet and furniture were nice and the kids enjoyed the balcony overlooking the pool. TVs were giant and had a very nice picture. Honestly, had it not been for the random guests opening our door, it would have ranked at least a 3 star. But while the room overall looked nice, the details fell flat. Especially considering how...
Read moreThe room was very nice. Kind of small, but nice, bright and clean. However, the fridge and microwave are right in front of the bathroom door and that was really annoying, crowded and also kind of gross. Throughout my stay all night until about 2am; was a lot of loud obnoxious running back and forth stomping sounds. It continued again around 7am the next morning. Everything just kind of echoed from outside into the room itself, so there was a lot of noise pollution throughout my entire stay.
I was very disappointed in the pool. It was very crowded during my stay. There were not very many places to sit and just too many bodies in such a small place. Especially with nowhere to sit. The water was very cold, so I didn't actually swim for very long. When I did swim, I went down the slide and almost single handedly wiped out another person standing in the way of the slide. That was scary and dangerous enough in itself.
The hot tub was full of children jumping in and splashing everyone sitting in there and running around the edges by your head and they're just kind of all over the place so there was no relaxation with the hot tub whatsoever. It was also seemingly dirty in the hot tub and around it, and is probably in need of a good update. Although, then they'll probably charge $40 extra a person for a wristband to swim instead of the already over priced $20 dollars per person extra.
To be honest I wasn't impressed, and a little more disappointed I wasted so much money on this place when I could have just went somewhere else with an ordinary pool, paid less, and just had a better time with less people around. Not too sure if I will be visiting again or...
Read more-Very rude receptionists-2 different women, one I spoke with in person & one on the phone (multiple times) about the waterpark rules & regulations and even the day we came in, the women behind the desk was rude & looked annoyed -The website does not have accurate information about the waterpark- it says “open to the public” but doesn’t include any other details like when you can come, that you can’t buy day passes in advance but also could get turned away the day you come in because there’s too many hotel guests (so frustrating because management is aware that the website is not up to date) -Very run down pool area (chipped paint and falling apart in some places) -Only one stall in the women’s bathroom & 1 shower (not great with a bunch of kids) -Lifeguard looked very young to be on duty -Receptionist, website & signs all over the hotel, claim you can order food but the restaurant (Benvenuto’s) doesn’t open until 3pm during the week and is CLOSED Sundays -If you do order food, there’s just an old hotel phone, 1 menu, next to a sign with the number to call (no hours of operations) located on top of a closed dirty bar area -$20 entry fee for everyone except kids under 3yrs (not worth it) -$250 for a party room that looked like it just had a few streamers, table & fold out chairs (we ended up NOT doing this, thank goodness) -To top the whole experience off, someone threw up in the pool & everyone had to get out which cut our stay short (no refunds or course either)
The only good thing to say about this place, is that the kids said they had...
