Watch out! Be prepared to stop and wait. Beautiful, scenic drive on The 1 with shops, restaurants, lots of stop lights, residential districts, businesses, pull outs are scarce, several entrances to state parks and plan your time. Give firefighters, police and first responders right-of-way.

No bike lanes. No pedestrian lanes. Very few pedestrian crossings to the ocean. Motorcycles legally drive between lanes of cars. Tough to find parking anywhere on 21 miles through Malibu on the PCH. Beautiful but be warned.

There have been 49 fatalities on this highway in 10 years, so if you don’t care for being crushed by 2 tons of rubber and steel you should probably seek a less terrifying beach experience.

This could be easily fixed if local officials invested in safer infrastructure that prevented people from speeding - as the road is currently designed thrill seekers and idiots love to rev up their engines and the only thing that will stop them are upgrades...

Absolutely beautiful. It almost earned a 5 star, but the fact that we had to pay to park at the beach and the run down facilities took away from the location.
