Corral Canyon trail is a 2.5 mile loop trail which switchbacks through the coastal shrub above Malibu. The trail begins in the parking lot adjacent to Malibu Seafood. Parking is very limited and requires $8 fee. You can park on PCH but this can be difficult to find at busy times of the year. The trail crosses a small creek at the beginning, which was nearly dry when I went in July. The trail itsekf is hard-packed soil. A porta-potty is available by the trailhead. Though short (~2.5 miles), it’s a nice trail and pretty popular among families with young kids.
The trail is exposed with no shade. It’s narrow and there are lot of tall plants that scratch a bit, so you may wish to wear pants rather than shorts. Read moreMy first time going to this trail and it is good. They have limited pay parking for 12 dollars, but you can park along the highway for free. The hike is very scenic and you can see the ocean and mountains. It's not for running as they have narrow tracks especially if you have people around. Not bad overall.
