Pretty nice "beach" I guess. There used to be an old lifeguard shack about 1000 ft out in the lake that you could swim to and jump off of. Very fun and dangerous. Various storms throughout the years has swept it away. Also javagrotto was a gorgeous little coffeehouse that promoted music and art with open mic nights and poetry readings. There would be crowds of people at night, spiked with caffeine and jazz cigarettes, wandering the seawall, gazing at the soft purple glow of downtown New Orleans. Katrina took care of that. Read moreI absolutely love walking the Lake Front. I use to do it more when I was younger and lived in Louisiana but now in MS. and don't get the chance. Was able to bring my children, all girls 14, 8, 8 and they also loved it and had lots of questions so they were able to learn a few things and exercise. Read moreI love the lakefront. Nice place to come sit and relax by the water. The sidewalks are great for a nice walk or run. The parks and splash pad are great for the kids to play at. My only complaint that I have had for years is NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS!!! You either have to go into a restaurant or bar along the lakefront to use the restaurant. Which is a problem, this means you have to leave and either go home or stop at one of the gas stations or fast food...
