I'm very disappointed with this place. I went there a few weeks ago to get some fruits and vegetables. I haven't been there in years. The place seemed well organized and the fruits appeared very nice. I purchased a pre sliced cantaloupe which looked a little unripe. but I decided to purchase it anyway because after all they are the experts. They surely would not cut a melon that was not ripe would they? Well unfortunately when I got home I tasted the melon and it was horrible. However the rest of the fruit tasted good. I went back today and they had the pre sliced cantaloupe again but this time they looked a little better so I decided to feel them this time to see if they were ripe or not. I felt a couple and finally found one that was ok. There was a man behind me talking to another man about having to throw away something and how people keep touching his fruits. I was unsure as to what he was talking about until I started to walk away and he proceeded to go to where I was standing grab a cantaloupe, walk past me and throw it in the trash right in front of my face. How rude! Had he asked me why I was checking the cantaloupe perhaps he would have known it was because they sold me a bad cantaloupe a few weeks ago. And I never knew that it was not right to check your fruits before you buy them. Most places allow you to do this. I never asked for my money back nor did I complain. In fact I came back and gave them more business. I will not make that mistake again. Because of his rudeness I will not be returning to this place and I will make sure that my friends and family are aware of what happened so that they can take their business elsewhere as well. You would think with major grocery chains and other markets around they could stand to be a...
Read moreOctober 2022: While exploring the neighborhood and driving around, my family wanted to stop and buysome fresh fruits and vegetables.
Pros: The prices are very reasonable for good quality produce. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The produce tasted great. The standout was the seedless watermelon 🍉, which is technically out of season. Somehow, they had some and it was the juiciest, sweetest watermelon that I've had in a long time. The chillies (hot peppers) had a good kick to them and proved to be a potent batch. I used some of the apples from a local orchard to make fried apples for breakfast. The apples were sweet and did require any sugar...only needed to prepare using cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg.
Cons: The indoor market is somewhat small, but offers a lot. Do not be deterred by the estimated 2000 Square feet.
Conclusion: I most definitely...
Read moreI shopped here under the previous owners on a regular basis and was sad to see them close however, I was stoked to see them reopening and even more excited that it was going to be Black owned. My first visit, I walked in and it looked pretty much the same. My second time I went to buy the fruit salad and was stunned at the high cost ($3.99). It was much cheaper before ($1.99). The 3rd time I was hoping the fruit salad was cheaper but it wasn’t so I opted for individual fruit and a quarter watermelon which was EXTREMELY good and sweet. I want to continue supporting but if I can get it cheaper at Marc’s or Giant Eagle I will go there instead. My dollars only...
