Absolutely beautiful! There is a trolley you can take, but we chose to ride our bikes across the old bridge that ends at Pidgon Key. The view was awesome! We saw stingrays, turtles, barracuda and other assorted fish. Once there, we had a tour of the old buildings and grounds. So much history, including life on the island while they were building the original train bridge. Not really much of a beach, but there is a pier where you can snorkel and fish. There is also a small giftshop, but that's only open on certain days. So if you're looking for souvenirs, I recommend looking at their information center on Marathon Key, where they have a lot of great stuff. We also brought our own small lunch. We had an amazingly wonderful day!...

In total the walk is 4 miles. TIP: Go early in the morning so that you're not walking when the sun is high. Also, there's a small parking area, and this gets filled up quickly the later you go.
There is a bus type vehicle that took passengers to Pigeon island. We only saw this by chance .... we didn't know that existed. Anyway we prefer to walk and enjoy...
