Marengo Cave Cabins — Attraction in Marengo

We enjoyed the peace and quiet staying in Cabin 1 for two nights. The cabin was clean, and had the basics we needed. There are no bathrooms/showers in the cabins, you must walk to the bathhouse, which isn't the most convenient when you have kids with you, but we made it work! We loved seeing the stars so clearly at night and roasting smores over the firepit. The AC worked really well in our cabin! Really the only negative we had concerned the bed frames. They need replaced. They were extremely squeaky and uncomfortable. The blue mattresses were way better than the green ones also, they are softer...

My husband and I love to camp. However, the pictures/description are misleading. He rented #2 today 2/22/25 & we decided to just go home. No bathroom & so small. For $108, we could've stayed at a hotel with a tv and a bathroom. The pictures I took don't do the disappointment justice. When I walked in, I thought I was in a storage cabin. Nope. I know we just lost our money, but it's not worth walking half a mile to go to the bathroom...

I never knew this place existed and now that I have found it oh, I will be going back. It was a wonderful visit in the cave with knowledgeable staff. Not a very long cave trip and it was nice and cool inside. Definitely...
