Fun and affordable. I took my family here because we wanted to do a zip line, well after further research we found Go Ape and not only do you zip line but you do all kinds of different obstacles way up high in the trees. This isn't a 45 min activity either. You can be here awhile. It took us 3 1/2 hours to get through the course. The activities are fun and some a little harder than others, but you can get through it. This was super fun and a great work out and family time. I am 43 and I was able to get through pretty good. If you are afraid of heights this is a great way to help challenge yourself with it because you have a harness and as long as you do what you are suppose to you won't fall. We did this on Saturday and today is Monday and my muscles hurt in a good way. A true exciting fun challenge and adventure. I read some of these reviews and people are complaining about the staff and the clips and safety. I can say that the staff is great, they are exciting and fun. Before you go out by yourself (and the staff is always going around checking on people) they do a training course, they help you in the harness and tell you 1,000+ times to make sure one clip is always connected to the tree or line before removing the other. There are signs at every single station on how to use your clips and how to do the obstacle. They go through this small intro then take you to a training part where you do a mini zip line and crossing and climb ladders etc. They watch and tell you to do the clips, I undid my d clip first and they told me no, the d clip is first connect and last unconnected. This is why if you are under 15 you have to have adult with you. I took my teenage daughter she is 16 and I would remind her a few times about her clips but after the first 3 stations I didn't, I followed behind her making sure she was all hooked up. This is a parents job. If you can't do that, request to have the instructor with you...
Read moreHad an absolute blast with our two nieces (10 and 13) who were visiting from out of town, and it was possibly the highlight of our summer. I originally booked the shorter Treetop Journey meant for younger kids because it was a really hot day and I had never been zip lining before (and I have a fear of heights). Since my younger niece met the 4’7” heigh requirement, we discussed as a family, then talked to the instructors to gather more information and decided to upgrade to the Treetop Adventure. Best decision ever! We had a stellar experience. After we went through the practice course we were on our own, with the instructors checking in along the way. There were water stations along the course and it was a lot cooler in shade of all the trees. Being up that high among the beautiful trees was spectacular. We even saw an adorable family of deer making their way through the woods. Also, if you can’t follow basic safety instructions, then this activity is not for you. You need to make sure you are clipped to a support AT ALL TIMES. The instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful. Even when I got a bit stuck at one point trying to climb the net after the Tarzan Swing, two AMAZING guides were already there to assist from the ground and had me hook myself onto an extra support, then patiently talked me through to the platform. They checked in on us along the way to make sure we were safe, staying hydrated, and having fun. We started a little late because there was a 30-minute delay after hearing thunder, but we kept ourselves entertained with some outdoor games in the picnic area. We did wish there were a few more zip-lines and less climbing challenges, but it was all fun nonetheless....
Read moreWe had a great visit to Go Ape last week and would recommend it as a fun and safe outdoor adventure even for those being very cautious and selective of activities during the global pandemic.
We arrived about 15 minutes before our start time and were welcomed and the staff checked us in. They were very mindful of both covid-19 health procedures and general adventure course safety procedures. It was nice to see that it wasn’t just policies on paper/the website - they were actively being implemented.
All staff and guests are required to wear face masks any time you’re within 6’ of another person (so during orientation and infrequently along the course) but we were able to remain 6’ from others not in our group at almost all times. The one exception was when the staff needed to check our harnesses to ensure our safety. That was outdoors and took less than one minute.
After orientation, we moved just as our group (2 of us) and were apart from the two other groups that did orientation during our time slot.
The course is primarily shaded so while we did wear sunscreen and bug spray, we probably would have been fine without it. We opted to leave hats and sunglasses in the car so we didn’t lose them along the course and were glad that we made that decision.
We were on the course during a sudden and unexpected rain storm. It was heavy rain and I could hear on the radios that staff were actively monitoring the weather reports in case it became unsafe and they had to clear the course. It was such a hot day that the rain was welcome and made it even more of an adventure!
We had a blast and would highly recommend going - and would...
