Schucks Regional Park — Attraction in Maryland

For all my mom's with kids of all ages- All the parks in Harford County that I've been to are nice, but each one has its own unique character. This one gives you a peaceful and safe vibe. Even though there isn't a gated area around the toddlers park area, there is so much flat grassland around that you can see everything and watch your kids from a far. Great park for a break from all the daily commotion.

Around 5:30pm on Wednesdays, there were cars parked on the trail and as I jogged by I was hit quite hard by a car door. There were also moveable bleachers in the middle of the trail. I have been there on other days and the worst is people stand in the middle of the trail and talk (I don’t mean on the sensory trail where you are supposed to stand around), so not too bad. It’s a shame that people can’t be considerate of others who may be using the trail for exercise. There aren’t many places to safely jog outdoors...

Too bad the park maintenance people are scarifying the park edges, removing all the under-brush, especially on the western edge parallel to Schucks Road along the stream bed. This area has been for several years the site of half a dozen breeding pairs of Common Yellowthroat. A scandal they will now have nowhere to go.
