One of my favorite places. So happy to come back and enjoy. But prepare yourself for a long ride to get here and a long trail going up the mountain. It’s not for all. It’s about 2 hrs and it’s a rocky climb up. My daughter started the trail and had to go back down. But you get to see a huge Banyan tree, a beautiful bamboo forest and an amazing waterfall at the end. The bamboo forest is my favorite. I have been here in August and December months. It’s prettier in the summer of course. But less hot in the winter to climb up. It’s a magical serene place. The rustling winds against the bamboo. As you move through the Pipiwai trail (starting at the Visitor Center), you should definitely take a short break and enjoy the shadiness and beautiful large tree. There are branches low enough to touch but I would not recommend anyone to climb onto them. Please respect nature and let the tree continue to grow. Report any violation and scarring/tagging on the tree to authorities.
