This is an absolutely beautiful beach, with clear blue water and soft orange-ish tan sand. There are lifeguards. A few things to know, though. First, you pay to park. That's fine, just know it. Many wonderful beaches don't have paid parking. Also, no bathhouses, just portapotties. I didnt see any showers anywhere. Most important-respect the surf. I have read that this beach has a very high injury rate. Fortunately I did not witness or experience any injuries when I was there. But you can see how. The surf breaks close to the shore, so the waves hit the sand with very powerful force. You don't want to be between a crashing wave and the sand because there is no water to buffer you. The good news is that you can get out of the way of the surf break line without being dangerously far out, and that is enjoyable. But be careful. I'm a former lifeguard, strong swimmer, and I was more intimidated here than anywhere else that we...
Read moreThis is the beach you imagine when you think about summer. Big beach is an accurate name. It's picture-esque. Very light blue water that transitions into a deep blue further out. Yellow sand and big waves. The waves were about 8-10 foot at their biggest while we were here today. They only came in every 30-45 minutes. In between, the waves were about 5-6 feet, still pretty big. Be very careful with these waves. They're strong. I was put into a scorpion like position when body riding the wave, mostly my fault. But I almost injured my neck doing that. Accidents can easily happen when the waves are this strong. Great...
Read moreBeautiful... some of the clearest water I've been in. Went snorkeling, saw a turtle and lots of fish. You can see 15-20 ft. Loved everything. Brought a boogie board, and even the kids had a blast. Gotta be careful with kids though. Waves pull and crash hard. Parking is easy and lots of it. We went at 8:20am so that might of played a part in that. Also there is tons of room on the beach, so no worries being on too of your neighbor. There's port a pottys, but no rinse stations. Food truck shows up around 9:30am. Enjoy, we...
