One of the best spots to snorkel on the island if going in the morning. You'll routinely see plenty of snorkel boats off the shore here. The water is usually incredibly calm--almost like a lake, at least in the Summer. It has seemingly endless coral gardens once you swim out a short way. I once found myself swimming out probably a half mile before I forced myself to turn around. Nowhere else on the island do I ever feel comfortable doing that! Parking is super easy--just pull off the highway wherever you see a good spot, and then set up in front of your vehicle. I would suggest the area that's right before the road turns into the shaded tree "tunnel," basically the area to stop before you come up on the camp grounds. This was a hidden gem that you don't really see on guides, or at least they don't play up how awesome it is! After you finish snorkeling, go get lunch at...

Be careful not to touch them and watch out for sea urchins on the bottom. There is a rocky Beach but also a sand covered entryway where you can walk into the water easily.
If you're more experienced and swimming and snorkeling. This is a good place for a beginner.

There's a historic site there of an Old Sugar Factory as you...
Read moreI'm not sure where some of the pictures in these reviews came from but I'm glad they didn't dissuade me from going to this beach. This is the perfect beach for young snorkelers of all ages. It has what looks like a natural boat ramp that can be used by babies and some small tide pools if that is too much. On top of that if you wander out a little further the water is shallow and clear with some rocks and small reefs to explore. We didn't see a lot of good fish here but the reefs were nice and there are plenty of small minnows to chase. This is definitely a hit for kids on their first...
