This is our favourite beach in Maui so far! My family and I left in the morning and got there about 10:00am! Even at 10:00am there wasn't any actual parking spots available, but we parked along the road(everyone was doing it). I wouldn't recommend this beach to any elderly or wheelchaired people because there is about 100 stairs you have to climb down to get to the amazing beach! Now the stairs do have railings and is made out of cement so they are very sturdy. The only thing is the stairs end too soon so there is a make shift path with a couple flat stones for stairs but can be tricky for some people.
The feeling of walking down and entering the beach almost felt magical and secluded. Now I say magical because I've never seen a more beautiful view from a beach! It was breath taking! The sand was very nice they some random stones and twigs here and they but overall very clean. We decided to sit in the shade which there is a little bit of but I recommend getting there early if you want a good spot. In the morning the waves weren't too strong but they were definitely crashing.
This beach is awesome for snorkeling! We went on the right side of the beach and there was lots of coral and fish! We went a bit deeper and we say a turtle! It was a amazing to see these creatures but never touch or over croud them!
There was also a small cave and rocky area great for photos! The cave of only goes in 10ft at the most not even. Very small, nothing lives in there but great for photos!
Overall this beach was beautiful! I definitely recommend going to this beach anytime you can! The views are magnificent and it has a secluded feel! Hope you have a good time in Maui!! ❤️❤️-Family...

This beach is very nice and with few people, at least for the time we wer there in the mid-afternoon around 3:00 p.m. Parking is plenty and the walk down is relatively easy because of the staircase, not dirt. The walk up can be quite a workout however.
The beach has nice soft sand. There are rocks on either side of the cove where they are little fish for kids to see with just goggles. No need to really swim out to see them, just dip your head underwater and you see them! The waves are relatively small, enough for you to enjoy but not big enough for a bodyboarding. Water here is clean and a little bit colder than other beaches. If your dig your feet into the sand about 3 to 4 inches, you will feel real cold sand. Strange!
Because parking is up at the top of the hill, some distance from the beach, be sure to bring all your prized possessions with you. Unfortunately, some of the items we left in our van were stolen. But it was possible that we may have forgotten to lock our vehicle (shame on me). In any case, be smart about you belongings here and anywhere else that you may visit.
Overall, my family really enjoy this beach, especially since it is on our way back from the Olivian Pools and the Blowhole. It is a nice stop for another swim in the Maui beach to...
Read moreSlaughterhouse Beach is another beach very well sheltered in the north-west of Maui. In first part of August the snorkeling conditions over there were very good almost every day. The beach is friendlier than Honolua Beach because you have sand on the beach and also into the water. In order to reach the beach we have to descend on a well-made concrete stairs which ends unexpected with 20 meters before reaching the sand. It seems that the money allotted for the constructions of the stair ended before the finishing of the all project. We had almost 3.5 hours of snorkeling here, in two stages. Firstly we entered on the right side of the beach were the water was crystal clear. Next round was in the beginning on the left side, but here the water was not so clear due to the waves. We moved towards the center of the bay where an isolated reef almost in the middle of the bay is. We saw four turtles small and medium size, but the fish were less abundant than on Honolua Bay. The underwater landscape instead is far more impressive than in Honolua Bay. On my snorkeling marking scale in that day the score for Slaughterhouse Beach were 4.5 from a...
