A nice little lake with a walking path that surrounds it, including a large wooden pier with a grand gazebo -- and a big, silly fountain (probably to aerate the pond water).
There's also a small fishing dock near the park parking area, but most people park at the library instead. The wooden pier is nicer, and the wooden deck extends quite a distance around the shore, connecting the surrounding waking path from either side. The large pier and small dock are connected by the same paved path that surrounds the lake.
They finally added more parking at the library area (at the expense of natural marshes), and Lake Pointe Road has also been repaved at the end to connect to Pine Forest Dr, allowing easier access to the old parking on the Pine Forest (North-east) side. Both parking areas have access to the park and waking paths. The non-library parking always less traffic and fewer issues parking -- it is close to the small dock, a decent walk from the pier and library.
The library sits right on the lake and has fishing poles you can check out for the day. The library gates are locked (presumably to control books and media from taking a walk), so you must walk through front doors for access between the library and the park. The is outdoor seating at the library at views of the lake and pier. On the opposite side is a retirement community.
The lake is designed to catch rain/drain water from surrounding areas. There is an overflow that goes below the ground nearby Maumelle Boulevard (highway ), I'm not sure if it is used is a water table for the water supply or just drains to the swamps/marshland on the East side of the road. It does often flood on the East side, I do not know if...

I did however enjoy watching the different birds in the area. I was able to spot a turkey vulture, a blue bird, a swan with chicks and mallard ducks. For an avid bird watcher that was a great consolation prize. You'd be better off going to...
