This is my favorite place for Mexican food in the entire central AR area! I've been going here for over half of my life and I've never had a bad dish. This is also one of the more inexpensive Mexican resturaunts I've been to without compromising the portions.
The salsa and cheese dip are always on point and I've never had a single stale chip. The fajitas and quesadillas are my personal favorites. Many resturaunts' quesadillas can be much too greasy and dripping, but not here! This is also the only place I go for arroz panchito. The fajita style chicken is seasoned so enchantingly well and mixed perfectly with rice and cheese sauce. Literally the ideal balance and ratio of chicken, cheese sauce, and rice. No other place does arroz panchito quite this well!
Additionally, Mr Pancho offers affordable alcoholic beverages. I really enjoy the beer on draft and drinking (most brands) from mugs as opposed to a bottle.
All that being said, this Mr. Pancho gets only 4 instead of 5 stars from me, because the service can be very lacking. I understand and expect a language barrier in most Mexican restaurants. I just don't appreciate my waiter or waitress being extremely inattentive or nonexistant. Most of the time the service is perfectly fine, even superb. However, when it is bad, you are just ignored and it feels like the staff just want you to eat and get out. Not a very welcoming feeling.
I also warn anyone reading to not dine in after 9:00pm. Despite the hours listing close at 10:30pm, you are treated as an inconvenience, keeping the employees from going home. I once showed up around 9:30pm and an employee ran to the door and locked it in my face as I was reaching for it.
Despite the rare unfriendliness and inattentiveness, this Mr. Pancho has my heart (and my stomach!) I will always love and support this delicious and...
Read morei ordered a fajita baked potato, a cheese quesadilla, and chicken and rice over the phone and was assured that i would receive chips and salsa for each of the meals. when i picked the food up i was assured once more that chips and salsa for each of the three meals were inside the bag. when i arrived home not only was the quesadilla missing completely but there was also only one small bag of chips and one container of salsa, and the queso that was supposed to be a part of two of the meals was packed separately. i called the restaurant and the manager tried to convince me i had not ordered a quesadilla and that the amount i had paid was for the chicken and rice and the potato with a container of queso even though the queso should have been in the food and i never ordered queso. they then said that even though i ordered three meals i would only get one thing of chips and queso in total even though i had been promised three of each on two different occasions. the manager agreed to make the quesadilla for me to pick up, but when i arrived he said that he assumed i wasn’t coming despite me saying i was, and that they didn’t make the quesadilla. after having to sit and wait i finally received the quesadilla and when i asked about the chips and salsa i had been promised the manager refused repeatedly to give me what i ordered without charging extra, and eventually walked away from the conversation while i was still talking him. the manager had a horrible attitude the entire time i was talking to him and never once even offered an apology for...
Read moreWe went here for Taco Tuesday because we heard that you could get chicken soft tacos for $1 each. I had never been, but my husband had once previously. To get directly to the point, the place isn't great.
Before we got there, I tried to call the restaurant around 3 PM, but no one answered. When we got there and walked in, the phone was ringing off the wall but employees were not interested in answering it. Needless to say, it rang the whole time we were there. No one answered it.
The restaurant is located in a one-exit location in the same building as an oil changing place. It could be tricky getting out at times.
We were seated pretty quickly, and brought chips and salsa. No one took our drink order for approximately 10 minutes. After the waitress brought drinks, it took a good while for them to take our order. Others had come in and been seated and ordered, and some were even getting their food before we were able to order.
We each ordered only two tacos. Again, others were getting their food before us. The food itself was okay and I definitely won't complain about the price. It was $6 TOTAL including tip, for four tacos!! The pricing is great for these. However, it doesn't overshadow the fact that the service here is AWFUL.
I agree with some of the more recent reviews about the service being terrible. Don't go if you're in a rush or have high expectations because you'll be disappointed. Needless to say, we won't...
