Atlantic Fine Furniture & Mattress — Attraction in Melbourne

To preface: My parents were business owners, and they NEVER treated customers in such an unprofessional manner. Also, my father would NEVER speak to a female customer the way the male co-owner spoke to me!

*This is the complaint that I filed with the "Better Business Bureau."

I want a refund from Atlantic Fine Furniture in Melbourne, Florida, on both white bookcases, and for this company to remove the ONE bookcase I'm stuck with, because the salesperson was dishonest about the fact that only one is available!

I purchased these on 12/29/23, and after continuous delays and excuses, am now being told they are on back order until at least May, which means it could be June or July by the time they go from manufacturer's warehouses in California to Georgia, then to the store in Melbourne, Florida, and finally to my home in Vero Beach, Florida. There's a good chance the manufacturer may NEVER produce one more bookcase just for one customer, me...

I was told that the bookcase is only manufactured by 1 company in the US, and it's mate can't be found anywhere online!!! I've done extensive online research myself, to no avail! I don't believe the manufacturer will incur the cost to produce and ship just my ONE bookcase, and fear it will be discontinued, since the blue TV console that I also purchased from this company, was discontinued, and it also came from the same manufacturer! The door on the left side of the blue console doesn't close, and there are NO shelves behind each door. Of course, the sales lady wasn't upfront about that either...

The "misogynist" male co-owner was verbally abusive, rude, and condescending toward me on the phone! He also refused to allow me to return the ONE bookcase I'm stuck with, even though no duplicate can be found anywhere online! He only offered to refund the bookcase that hasn't come in yet. Meanwhile i'm making monthly auto payments for all pieces, even though I don't have them in my home! I have no place to store the items that need to go in this bookcase, so they are on countertops, until and IF it ever arrives! Each bookcase is approximately $850.00 plus 7 % sales tax, and delivery cost.

Thank you for helping me to receive my refund for both bookcases, and get this ONE bookcase, with no mate, out of my home...!!!

I just wanted to write a review for a superb little family-run business. New to town came in to look at a mattress (didn't want to drive over three hours with a bed on my roof racks, lol) walked in and was greeted by Corey. He was very nice, informative, and highly knowledgeable about his products. We spoke for a while and it was a pleasure. I told him my budget, which is laughable for trying to find a quality mattress to sleep on but he did his best, even took me in the back to find something. I knew what i wanted but for some reason thought there could've been something better out there. I also spoke to the mother-in-law, whose name I don't remember, but we spoke about financial options for me. Still, i took off to try to find something else, i like to have options, but returned back about a week later, after several restless nights with an absolute nightmare that i settled with. Corey unfortunately wasn't there but a very nice Amber was there. Told her my story and luckily the mattress that i liked was still there. They gave me a great deal on it, for my laughable budget and included a foundation box spring. Told them my horrendous story which I'm embarrassed about, but made me feel like family, and welcomed me to town. 3 days passed, and even though I'm a very active person who wished i had robotic-like energy and didn't need to sleep, i think bedtime is my favorite time. I’ve been waiting WEEKS. Finally received the correct pieces of furniture. If you want over priced and cheap furniture this is the place. What started out as a wonderful experience turned into a nightmare. Our salesperson Stephanie was extremely nice but had no knowledge of what she’s sadly selling. She told us it was made in America and all real wood. Also said it would take 5-6 weeks to arrive. When requested for sample of wood she showed us a beautiful grey kitchen set and said we would absolutely love the color. We waited 9 weeks and had to call at 6 weeks to check in. Had to call weekly for updates. When it finally arrived the dresser was broken which they were aware of it, and when I requested to speak to a different manager or owner about all the issues I was told “no”. It is not the color she SWORE it was supposed to be, ended up with made in Taiwan, partial wood and a moldy green color furniture set. I didn’t care where it was made from but when we were lied to about everything it truly hurts. Buyer be ware don’t special order anything because it may take forever and end up the wrong color. Spent thousands on furniture I hate because I trusted what was showed to me. Going to have to spend more to get it painted. I wish I just went to rooms to go because at least I would have paid for cheap furniture instead of over priced junk. I have all the messages and multiple phone calls logged for this...
