This is a very relaxing park that allows you to get away from hustle and bustle of the city. Climb the large mound to get beautiful views of the river. Explore the history here. This probably the location where Hernando de Soto first discovered the Mississippi River and it is rumored that he is buried here. The Mound Builders built these mounds long before Europeans arrived.

Nice for a little stroll to pass some time. Interesting facts posted throughout the park. Currently construction going across the way but still surprisingly calm. Great riverfront view.

Very simple, well manicured park with nice pathways. There are benches overlooking the river that provide a great spot to watch the sunset. Lots of free on street parking.

This is a nicely maintained park. They have just recently added some landscaping along the walking trail. It's small but well shaded under large hardwood trees. It's best to enter from the south on Riverside Dr. I-55 north and south are under construction from McLemore to the river bridge. Construction is scheduled to be completed...

Nice park across from Metal Museum. Has "prehistoric earth mounds, historic markers, scenic Mississippi River views, one Outdoor basketball court"; has "history of Mississippian culture, B.C., 1600s A.D. Chickasaws - moved by 1818." Originally "established as Desoto Park ca. 1911...
