Very cool pedestrian/bike bridge next to the old railroad bridge running parallel to I-55. Be advised there is construction on I-55 on the Memphis side at the moment so the exits on that side make the trail a tad difficult to access from I-55 once you enter Tennessee. Great views of downtown Memphis from the south end of town from the bridge. You can access the trail from either side. The Arkansas side is the last exit before the river if you're heading east towards Memphis. There are electric bicycles for rent. The Arkansas side is part of a river trail that extends to Mariana, Ark? Great addition to this area. I lived in a tower on the Tennessee side back in 2004, and I would've loved to have had this trail when I lived downtown. Tom Lee Park and the Beale St. River Landing are also a delight to visit these days as well. ๐ ๐ Memphis and West Memphis for offering this option for exercise. It enhances the value of the city and hopefully the health of...

If you visit Memphis you need to see the Mississippi 'shining like a national guitar' and step into Arkansas.
We were incredibly lucky to get our timing perfect by meeting up with a once a year walking tour to see the harvest moon rise above the Mississippi.
It was a real highlight of our holiday to meet local Memphians and learn all about Memphis from the locals. We were very lucky
Instead of spending 30 minutes on the walk we took 2 hours!!
I really recommend making the time to do this walk across the Mississippi. You will need a car but it's a short 6-8 min drive from...

They did have porta potties on that side, along with a bike station with the tool kit and air for tires if needed. Picnic tables are under the newer set of train tracks. We did get to watch a train come across that was exciting. The rest of the walkway on the Arkansas side once you completely come across the river is all covered withan awning. This was a nice walk. If youโre in the Memphis area, we also went up the block to another trail that goes along the river that had some really nice flowers and a beautiful view...
