Woodland Discovery Playground — Attraction in Memphis

This park is huge !! They got so many things for the kids to do. Just be sure to keep an eye on the kids as they can easily wander off given how big the park area is. There is a big lake adjacent to the park. There are fun activities for the adults like ropeways, ebikes, fishing etc. It's got ample space to stroll around or ride bikes. There is a horse stable near by where you can ride horses if you are into it. This park is away from the city and makes a perfect spot for a weekend getaway for picnics and barbecues with friends and family. -1 star only because the bathrooms could be better maintained. This is hands down the best playground we've ever been to. It's mostly fenced in (there was a large gate open in the front), and inside it's divided into several smaller play areas. We were there with kids 4-8, and they played like crazy the entire time, then weren't ready to leave when it was finally time to go! Be aware that one of the play areas is full of sand, in case that's not your thing, though honestly if you went to that play space first, all the sand would rub off of you after you ran around the other spots. We stopped here to let the kids get some energy out on a long roadtrip. This place is SO COOL! There are 4 different playground areas that kind of weave together with this awesome vine-covered trellis walkway, and it’s all surrounded by lush green trees. The area felt safe for our family, and you can tell they take pride in caring for this space! There are public restrooms near the parking lot, too.

The entire Shelby Farms Park is truly beautiful, and I wish we had had more time to explore all it has to offer! I’d highly recommend this place to families looking for a safe, fun, and beautiful...
