Lewis Morris Park Trail Parking Lot — Attraction in Mendham Township

This is a very nice park with pleanty of hiking trails. Most are easy to moderate. They are well kept. I got there at 7 am and I was the second car there. When I got back around 12:30, the lot was full. There is extra parking on the other side. I hiked on the South side, so be careful crossing the road. It also seems to be a big mountain bike area. How do you rate a parking lot? Well, that's exactly what I am doing. It's a small lot that is part of Lewis Morris Park. It's a convenient location that divides two sides of the park. They have a crosswalk light for you to be seen when crossing the street but driving out of the lot may be a little trickier as the left side can be a little tough to see around the curve/tree growth. Fantastic trail access parking area. Not that large given the size of Lewis Morris Park but we’ve never seen it 100% full. This is also a great spot to access the Patriots Path. The path heading northwest from here for about one mile does not follow the railroad line like most of this stretch of the Patriots Path.
