Another great local zoo in New Jersey is the Cape May County Zoo, that I've been visiting almost every two years or so since early 2000's. It is a free admission zoo, but I always love to leave donations for the maintenance and the care of the awesome animals in captivity there, that I consider true ambassadors of their species and habitats, it inspires everyone to have more empathy and care for all creatures and the places they call home, hence I encourage everyone to donate the best one could afford. Besides the animals, the zoo layout and the walkways are clean, full of vegetation and waters, small lakes/wetlands where you can admire lots of water birds and even turtles, there are gift shops, food huts or courts, strollers and wheelchairs for rent, animal carousel, penny machines, photo booth, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, a fishing pond, wedding gazebo, tree to tree aerial obstacle adventure park. The zoo offers other great activities for all ages such as camps, adopt an animal program, field trips or animal encounters & guided tours, zoo-to-you program, education programs, souvenirs and gifts, tree to tree adventure course or zipline park, pavilion rental for events, birthday parties, weddings for those absolute animal lovers and much more, for more info please visit the zoo's website that is full of information that I cannot list here. Cape May Zoo has had a great collection of cute animals over the years, highly recommended to visit the zoo’s website and to plan your trip there, you won’t regret it, just get ready for a ton of steps, great walkways and bridges not just for sightseeing but also for fitness walks. And since I had the honor to meet the great Siberian Tiger Rocky that was "transferred" to the tiger's heaven since June of 2017, I had to include a photo of him, great memories watching him playing in the swimming pool inside his enclosure or just patrolling his enclosure perimeter and greeting visitors and care takers with that tiger vocalization called chuffing, such a beautiful animal ambassador that I’ll never forget. It is highly recommended to visit Cape May Zoo, anyone that can afford the time just put it on your bucket list and donate, also volunteering available. Old or young anyone can learn about conserving world’s rich biological diversity and to ensure lasting prosperity for future...

The Cape May County Zoo is an absolute gem, offering an exceptional experience for visitors of all ages. One of the first things you'll notice is how impeccably clean the entire zoo is. The grounds are well-maintained, making it a pleasure to stroll through the various exhibits without any distractions. The animals, many of which are quite rare, are housed in spacious enclosures that are thoughtfully designed to provide excellent viewing opportunities while prioritizing the well-being of the wildlife.

Navigating the zoo is a breeze, thanks to the comfortable and easy-to-follow routes. The paths are well-marked, and the map provided is simple to use, ensuring you won’t miss any of the highlights. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a regular, the layout makes it easy to explore at your own pace, while covering all the must-see exhibits.

Outside the zoo, the playgrounds are a fantastic bonus, offering fun for kids of all ages. There are plenty of different play areas, so no matter the age group, there’s something engaging for everyone. It’s a perfect spot for families to let their children burn off some energy before or after seeing the animals.

Parking is abundant, especially on weekdays, making it convenient to get in and out of the zoo without hassle. You won’t have to worry about finding a spot, even during busier times, which adds to the overall stress-free experience.

The staff members are incredibly polite and friendly, enhancing the visitor experience with their welcoming attitude and knowledge of the animals. They are always ready to help and answer questions, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the zoo.

Best of all, admission is completely free, which is an amazing perk considering the quality of the experience. Donations are welcome and encouraged to help maintain this fantastic facility, but it’s heartening to know that everyone can enjoy the zoo, regardless of budget.

In summary, the Cape May Zoo is a standout destination that offers a relaxing, educational, and enjoyable day out. With its cleanliness, easy-to-navigate paths, rare animals, ample play areas, and friendly staff—all for free—it's a must-visit for anyone...
