Inadequate Unprofessional Installation & Ownership is Despicable. I would make this a 0 star review if I could. BUYER BEWARE the way that installation & customer service is done at Stone House is shocking. The owner yelled at me multiple times on the phone, made my pregnant wife cry and threatened me to come down to the shop to face him like a man. This will be a pretty detailed review, but I am willing to answer any questions or concerns that you may have if you are trying to use them for granite counter tops which I strongly suggest not to, especially if you are going to have granite around a cook top.
The installation took 2 hours on Thursday and was not complete because they measured the back splash wrong, it was off by 1/2 inch and looked bad, so they said they will return Monday, install the new back splash piece and seal all of the granite. Upon completing of the new back splash piece and sealing all of the granite I presented the installers with the last check for the granite which was cashed that next day Tuesday. Once my contractor gets out of the hospital and returns to our kitchen Wednesday Morning, he informs me of all the inadequacies: They cut the granite INSIDE of the house for the Cook top, he has never seen that in his life and they didn't clean up, you can still see the dust. (Pic #1) They had to cut my custom window trim to make it fit INSTEAD of doing the proper thing and cutting the granite, they took the lazy way out. (Pic #2 & #3) They were very sloppy around the Back splash area and made major holes in the sheet rock (Pic #4) There was a noticeable big white scratch that was over a foot long on the counter top (Pic #5) The Island Counter top was noticeable off center by over 1.5 inches (Pic #6 right side Pic #7 left side) The cook top opening developed 3 cracks between Monday when the crew finished and Wednesday when the contractor noticed it. 3 cracks in the 3 corners. (Pic #8 is top left, Pic #9 is top right and pic #10 is the bad one bottom right)
Upon going through all of this with my contractor, I immediately went to Stone House to talk to Mr. X and I showed him these pictures. Below are his responses to each one of my concerns. At this point I paid my full balance and I do not have any leverage to stand on to get these issues fixed, but I went to the shop anyway to inform Mr. X who I found out is apparently an owner, about my terrible experience. "What do you want from me? You want me to hire a cleaning crew? You want me to send over a cleaning service?" (Mr. X) By that response I could tell that the owner was not interested in my feedback or willing to work with me. "You gave them permission to cut the window, so they did. (Mr. X)" Yes but I know nothing about the granite installation process and was unaware they could have done it a different way to save the window trim. (Me) "Well you gave them permission." (Mr. X) "There will be a back splash that covers those spaces, you will never see it." (Mr. X) I understand that but your guys should have been more careful, they now made more work for my contractor. (Me) "Your contractor maybe does 5 kitchens a year, my installers do 5 kitchens a day." (Mr. X) My contractor has done over 200 kitchens and he knows what he is talking about, he has been in business for over 20 years. (Me) 5 & 6. "The crew will come back out and fix that" (Mr. X) Ok that would be great, I want to make sure my contractor is there when they are working (Me)
Pic #11 and #12 is what the counter top looked like after the crew left on Friday afternoon. The crack was not fixed and they didn't care at all. It was the worst experience I have ever had with any type of contractor or installation in my 31 years on Earth. I will never be giving Stone House any more of my money and I could not stress enough the lack of respect the treated my family and my contractors. I never wish the strain and stress that my family had to go through with this process, so take this review as you may and feel free to contact me if you would like more...
Read moreTwo stars because management wasn't that bad they definitely don't run business right. I have used them previously like 3 years ago for countertop turned out great. So when we moved I wanted to use them again. This time we needed cabinets and countertops. So I had the guy come out and measure draw up a plan. We went over modified a little and ordered them up. Once cabinets were ordered the problems began. For delivery their guy was just going to leave the cabinets outside in the driveway. I had to help him bring them inside. Ok not a problem then we get to the last cabinet it doesn't fit up the stairs. The guy says well your buddy who is doing your cabinets can take it apart and re assemble in house. I tell him my guy is just a friend not contractor it not his job. So he leaves I have to contact the manager and he questions the whole thing saying why can't your guy do it... I'm like he is just a friend not a contractor. So he sends guys back out and boy do they have attitude. The took it apart brought it back inside put it back together. Now the front face plate was cracked I had to deal with that and it got resolved. Now my friend has installed all but the fridge panels and he doesn't know how to do it we call them and they do it send same miserable guy back out and they are just miserable and one guy is like hopefully we don't have to come back. I'm like ok. Went up nice looks pretty good but the scribe molding isn't flush. Now we are getting into the finish work and it is not great. See attached picture. The kitchen might look good but when you are looking around you will notice the countertop over hanging. The countertop not coming up as far as I told them. Missing caulk. Not putting outlets back in the box saying I have to go get longer screws to make it work. There are just so many things so I do not recommend this company anymore. Update guys came back these were their fixes. They gave me two new side pieces that come up the height I originally wanted. Look good the one picture is just showing it is still over hanging a little. Nowhere near as bad as the first time. The other picture is showing they go the height right. And the other new pic shows their fix for the over hang of wall for counter a rounded corner. Still no new finish piece for side of fridge. But...
Read moreI want to start off by letting everyone reading this review know that I am a real estate investor in the business for over 13 years. I’ve dealt with numerous cabinet companies over the years. Some have been good, mediocre, and flat out bad. Stone House falls in the horrible category. Their customer service rep Eldi treated and spoke to me like I was just a number and had no idea what I was doing or talking about. That should’ve been the end of our business transaction but their prices were competitive and I needed this project done ASAP. Secondly, the cabinets that were installed in the property were damaged and of low quality. I complained after the cabinets were installed and they sent someone that confirmed that yes they were in fact damaged by their installer. They hammered nails all along the trim and molding leaving nicks, dents and scratches all over the cabinets. He told me he would be back to fix the damages. Needless to say he never returned. After numerous attempts to get them to come back and make the situation right, I put in a dispute with my credit card company in hopes of trying to resolve this matter. Of course they disputed and won because I had trusted them and signed off on the work without inspecting them due to being so busy and having other properties to tend to. Their prices are competitive but I ended up spending more by having the damaged cabinets they installed repaired by another company. I would never do business with this company again. If you do business with them watch their every move and do a thorough inspection. I do have photos and would be more than...
