Code Breakers Escape and Puzzle Rooms — Attraction in Midland

“Weird” escape room was fun, loved that it had a lot of puzzles. Made it perfect for our group of 6 (3 adults and 3 older kids) to all work together. Pretty small space but not terrible.

Staff was not very welcoming and made the experience awkward before and after the room. We made it on the leaderboard based on our timing (46 minutes) and the one staff member suggested it was too much work to change it while we were there so we could get a picture, not looking up from the computer to make eye contact with us. The other staff member said “unless you’ve done that room before” like that was the only reason why we made it out in that time. This was our first time at this location. We had to ask to take a picture after which is a customary step after you escape. We’ve done 10+ escape rooms at many different locations around the state and have never had staff that made the experience uncomfortable and weird. If you've ever done an escape room, do not do the saloon. 75% of the objects in the room had nothing to do with solving the puzzle. It was not a mental challenge at all and VERY disappointing compared to other escape room businesses. It seems like this business invests more money and time into everything but the puzzles and clues. Not worth the $25, maybe worth $5-$10. The lobby was clutttered and had random boxes and things laying around. The bathroom trash was overflowing. The staff didn't seem professional and came off as rude. We own an escape room and we think Code Breakers is fantastic. The owner designs 💯% original rooms that you won't see anywhere else! We have played both rooms that are open and are patiently waiting for the third. It will be worth the wait. We're only an hour north so it's well worth the drive too. We should play the first room about time travel again cuz we failed and it has been a while. The other one we barely made it out! I think he was generous with the timer ⌛⏳. Also they have Two Spacious Unisex Bathrooms that were clean when I went in, and clean when I went out. There's lots of good restaurants in Midland to have a bite when you are done playing too.
