It has been quite a while since I've done a haunting experience (I was a cast member in Maine 30 years ago... and so it has been QUITE a while). This was pretty perfect. I wanted to do the Darker Woods experience (cast members get to touch you!), but my wife was not up for it. Serendipitously, we ran into one of my friends and a couple of his buddies... and THEY did the Darker Woods experience, so i lived vicariously through them. The Dark Woods is pretty amazing... it took 45 minutes or so to get through the trail. It must take an enormous amount of time to set up the course! The cast members are a mix of adults and local high school students. Their outfits and make up is spot-on. They frequently engaged with us on a first-name basis, making the experience feel quite personal. Two thumbs WAY UP! Thank you, Dark Woods!

I brought my 6 year old son to the No Trauma Tour. It was wonderful to tour The Dark Woods without the jump scares for younger children who may not quite be ready for the full haunt experience. The tour was partially guided by several knowledgeable workers who took the time to answer my sons questions and showed him where all the actors would be lurking/hiding during regular haunt nights. My 6 year old want to come back and do the “Real” Dark Woods next weekend. As a bit of a haunt aficionado, a was really impressed with the production value. The sets and overall theming exceeded expectations. I’m looking forward to coming back and seeing the actors’ costumes and make-up. I have high hopes. I’m surprised this “boo-tique” haunt isn’t more well known. Defining worth the drive from MA.

Easily one of the all time, best huntinghouse walk throughs I've ever experienced. The Google reviews although great with good stars still don't do it, Justice. I've gone through hundreds of haunted house walk throughs all over the country in this is by far one of the best. With so many actors who stay to their character and interact with you on a comical level but still spooky and creepy. The walk through was full of amazing self-made décor, it was long and well lit but still plenty dark for spooky experience. I especially in enjoy that they take extra time to have you walk through in small groups so you have your own individual experience and scare time. The extra time waiting is much worth it to avoid the congeline experience of the cheap horror houses that we are all used to.

I recently had the opportunity to visit The Dark Woods attraction, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! From start to finish, I was completely immersed in a world of spine-tingling scares and heart-pounding excitement.

First and foremost, the attention to detail in this haunted house is truly remarkable. Every room was meticulously decorated, creating an eerie and realistic atmosphere that heightened the anticipation and fear factor. The dimly lit hallways, creepy sound effects, and strategically placed props added an extra layer of authenticity, making it feel like I had stepped into a horror movie.

The actors were undoubtedly the stars of the show. Their commitment to their roles was outstanding, as they delivered spine-chilling performances that left me on the edge of my seat. Each scare was perfectly timed and executed, ensuring that my heart raced with every twist and turn. The actors' ability to adapt to their surroundings and engage with the visitors made the experience all the more immersive and thrilling.

One aspect that impressed me was the variety of scares throughout. From jump scares to psychological mind games, there was never a dull moment. The attraction cleverly played with different horror elements, keeping me guessing and providing an adrenaline rush that I won't soon forget. It was an exhilarating rollercoaster ride of emotions, leaving me both terrified and exhilarated at the same time.

To ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment, the staff members were attentive, helpful, and professional. They made sure that queues were organized and moved smoothly, and they were always available to provide guidance or answer any questions. Their commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment was evident throughout my visit.

I also appreciate the accessibility options. They had thoughtfully considered the needs of all visitors, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the experience to the fullest. Whether it was accommodating individuals with mobility challenges or providing alternative scare levels for those who preferred a milder experience, their inclusivity was commendable.

In conclusion, The Dark Woods exceeded all my expectations, delivering an unforgettable and adrenaline-pumping experience. The attention to detail, talented actors, and variety of scares combined to create a genuinely thrilling adventure that left me wanting more. I highly recommend this haunted house to all thrill-seekers and horror enthusiasts – prepare to be scared, entertained, and...

Normally I don't review things, but I just have to with this one. I go to ALOT of haunts, and I used to be an actor and makeup artist for 6 years. This is by far the worst haunt I have ever visited. Customers pay their hard earned money to have a good time, get scared, enjoy the decor. The majority of actors just chatted with people and didn't even try to scare anyone. I have absolutely no idea why they think it's scary or even acceptable to constantly stop groups to rearrange them? It's annoying and rude to be stopped every scene to be told to go first or last or separate from this person or walk slower. Why are they chastising paying customers like kindergarteners? We're adults....let us walk. The skits they do are trying so hard to be unique, they forget they're a haunt and should be scaring people. One girl just stopped everyone to ask them if they're saints or sinners and then immediately told them to get out...... where's the punchline? I got called annoying by one actor for walking like 5 ft in front of people instead of literally holding on to complete strangers like they wanted. The next actor moved me to the back because he said we can move along and I asked if I'm allowed to walk now? Then the next actor tried to move me to the front. Then the next tried to move someone else to the front. They forced people who clearly weren't having a good time to play along with all these terrible skits. The only good thing about the whole experience was their wonderful ticket girl, Hillary. In future seasons hopefully she tries out a new haunt. She deserves to work someplace decent.

Now for the main reason I'm even leaving a review at all. After leaving I looked up the haunt again to see the reviews and saw it's suspiciously rated higher than all the amazing haunts I've been to recently. So I did a little digging as well as got an email to leave a review. I am absolutely appalled by the owners comments and attitude on reviews. It is absolutely disgusting the way they respond to people. And the hall of complain fame? Are they serious?

Personally as a member or the haunt community- I would just like to say we do not claim this owner. He is a bad example overall. I hope the few decent actors I saw find their place in another haunt someday. I just can't with this one. Don't...

I took my daughter and her 3 friends ( ages 12-13) to their very first haunted attraction. The Dark Woods did not disappoint . I was first blown away by the level of customer service I received from the ticket booth as well as the “gravedigger” greeting everyone in line. Extremely polite and helpful. Secondly all of the actors inside the attraction had amazing make up and costumes . The played each role with a special level of character that enhanced the experience to the fullest. There was absolutely zero contact with anyone which is great too. One of my biggest concerns entering was going to be the language used while going through the woods. I was for sure I would be hearing a handful of foul language here and there and I was pleasantly surprised on how there was nothing. No swearing at all!! And lastly , not one time did we see anyone setting up to their cues as we approached. They timed out groups so not only did we not see anyone else taking the tour, we didn’t hear them screaming either. Not only will we be going back but we plan on telling everyone we know to check it out. I can’t stop speaking so highly of this team. Great job to everyone involved!!!!!

UPDATE: 3rd year in a row with my daughter, her friends, and now my son (13). Love the updates. But one moment stuck out the most to me. An actor had quiet a jump scare with my son which caused him to be horrifed and tear up. The actor broke character to apologize and make sure he was ok. I was so impressed in how much heart and spirit that was shown. Oh my god, this place could not be any more amazing if they tried. Great owner, great workers, over all a must do to anyone in the new...
