Jade Dragon — Restaurant in Milford

I have given 1 star because zero was not an option. I went to Jade Dragon with my family for Mother’s Day today. The service was terrible, my son in law ordered a beer on tap and because they only have bottled the waitress just left and never brought him a beer. Finally when asked again she told him only bottles so he ordered a bottle. My son and I ordered sushi to share for an appetizer and no plates. Then the food came, it was awful!!! It tasted like pure sodium. The beef and broccoli was beyond eating unless you enjoy salt, the general tso when cut opened to try and find the chicken was pure flour with 5% dark meat if that. The sezuan chicken total sodium and the chicken and broccoli the same. My granddaughter ordered sweet and sour chicken which was the only thing without soy sauce and white rice, a good choice because the fried rice was total soy sauce, too. I asked to speak with the owner and he came to the table and told us that he could assure us there was not much sodium, the he defended the general tso and said it should be made with mostly flour and no chicken because that’s how it gets crispy, (if this were true then it won’t have been soggy). He then asked us where we eat and when we told him Lilac Bloosom, Shanghai Osaka and the Sake House he said that is why we didn’t like the food at Jade, I guess our expectations were set too high! We threw out most of the food, my daughter is 6 months pregnant and threw up when she left. The bill was $70.00 for lunch, 1 beer and water. The owner took nothing off the bill and didn’t care that we were extremely unsatisfied on Mother’s Day, the we’re not busy either. Delicious and fresh tasting sushi and gracious staff. We will definitely be back. Edited: My co-workers ordered Chinese from here a few weeks ago, four months after my original review, and no one liked the food. I told everyone it was because the sushi was good (it's rare to find a restaurant that does sushi and Chinese well). We went back tonight for dinner and the fish was not fresh at all. I choked my sushi down, but my daughter couldn't do it. Not sure if it was an off night or what, but we were pretty disappointed, especially since it was so good last time. Also a little annoyed at the fact that we paid for sushi we didn't eat because it wasn't fresh. It wasn't bad, exactly, but it was pretty close and it definitely tasted off. The service here is abysmal. My husband got his Chinese food which was like eating a salt stick - salty and greasy and I got a partial order of my sushi only. We waited one hour for the balance of my order and my son never got his sushi order at all. When we complained they said oh the computer never released the order, despite the fact we had asked repeatedly where our food was during the hour and were told “it’s coming.” When we complained to an owner she literally laughed at us and said “oh well things happen.” The food was awful, service was worse, bathrooms filthy.
