Hiked up here for the summer 2024 performance of Kinky Boots. Great talent on stage. I'm docking stars because there were three separate hiccups that together made the experience a lot less worthwhile. (1) They announced the day before the show that they wouldn't be running shuttles to Mill Valley. Really? I had planned for weeks to take the shuttle as one leg of my hike, but now I was forced to change my plans. (2) They advertised that they would have food in the Theater Village, but all they had were beverages (and some well-received cold treats). I was looking forward to a nice lunch after a long hike but was left disappointed. (3) The microphones kept cutting out during the performance. I felt sorry for the talent on stage. I visited at sunset when the place was empty, and it felt like walking into an interactive artwork...the stonework and oak trees and just the way it all fit beautifully into the space. I am a family photographer and this is a location I will suggest to clients looking for something a little...well...Marin!

Read moreA simple rock and concrete open-air amphitheatre. Its on the sheltered side of the hill top, mostly protected from chill breezes and direct sun. There's a great view of Marin and the Bay bridge, a decent restrooms facility, and a play area for kids. And after sunset the stars. The theater is a 5 minute walk from the parking lot. Bring a snack, bottled water, and dress in layers as the temp will vary widely as the sun and wind cycle through the day.
