I’ve enjoyed taking my children to this playground multiple times. However, the last few times we came we were completely appalled by the lack of cleanliness. We like to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the playground area, but there is only one available trash receptacle, and it was already overflowing and trash was scattered around it. On a windy day, it’s impossible to keep trash from blowing away. Next, two of my children needed to use the restroom. It was very disturbing to find that BOTH the womens’ and men’s’ restrooms had no working electricity or water! The men’s room did not have toilet paper. I had to prop open the door to let my toddler use the toilet; otherwise there wouldn’t have been any light to see while inside. Additionally, the toilets were completely full of excrement and toilet paper, and with no working water there was no way to flush! Also no way to wash your hands afterwards! There were two other adults at the restrooms the same time we were, and they refused to even go inside because (they said) it was so disgusting. These unsanitary conditions (especially for children) are unacceptable for a...

The park has a simple layout but could use an upgrade in landscaping to better present it's image. As you approach the water, you yearn for a few benches to sit down and look out into the river. Adding a paved walking path near the benches with a few plants would highlight the river and the park. At night, adding a few small lamp posts, ( near the benches) would provide the warmth of being near the water. To better understand this landscaping concept, there is a similar park that is surrounded by water that is located in Milton. This park has beautiful landscaping, benches, light posts and plants. If the city of Millsboro applies similar landscaping, from the highway, (especially driving at night), you will see a Cupola Park that would resemble a walk in Paris. Redesigning this park would certainly make a loud artfulness statement of appreciation. Bringing naturalism to Cupola Park would upgrade the...
