Explain to me how is it that Kosciusko park pool can close at 4:30pm on another sweltering hot day.First day opening June 28th.And the pools hours is 8am -2pm on Saturday,Closed on Sunday and supposedly be open from 8am-8pm on weekdays. We pay the taxes to these parks and they should be open at appropriate hours.Just another reason to keep our kids from having a good day at the pool. And I’m talking about the Hispanics and black kids.We have lazy white lifeguards who I’m sure doesn’t live in the area.I can drive to pewaukee and out by oconomowoc and they be having the greatest time swimming, jet skiing and fishing do they close those lakes down.Nope and the one off of 94west have a bar right by the lake. They really be shutting our stuff down even when there’s no problem.Milwaukee county needs to give these kids something to do.They shut down all of the ymca’s so what they supposed to do when they take stuff away.Kids out in the burbs have pools and skate parks and hang out spots. We need to be speaking to the mayor or the alderman in this district. And hire ppl who is from the neighborhood to be lifeguards and not ppl who here and close it down because they don’t want to spend their whole day in our neighborhood.Just saying I have a lot more to say…But this needs to be addressed. And ohh yeah the restrooms were were filthy with leaves in...
Read moreThe Kosciuszko Community Center is located within Kosciuszko Park provides exceptional opportunities not offered in any other park in the city. What is available is: an adult weight room that is better equipped than many gyms I have been in before, a basketball court, a children’s library, etc. The provide various programs for youth (including one-on-one mentoring), martial arts programs, boxing programs, etc. There is a fee that can be per visit, per month or annual. The fees are exceptionally inexpensive - annual membership is less than most places (think YMCA) charge monthly. (This is a taxpayer supported entity so the savings does not derive from a second class experience - this compares well against any commercial gym.) Parking is easy; the building is handicap accessible. If you’re visiting from somewhere and miss gym time, this is the place to go. It is just a short walk...
Read moreThis is a huge grassy park with huge old trees, ponds, very scenic. A classic big city park. But, my god, the non-natural assets really need some TLC. Went there on a Saturday. Community Center(field house) was closed. Sign on the window said they're closed Saturday and Sunday. What? Great big swimming pool...also closed. Super hot day in July, and the kids can't go swimming. That's just sad. There are outhouses around the park. The one I went into...in it there was an apocalyptic level of filth. Swings are worn out, rubber matting on the playground, also worn out. Also, there are picnic tables, which is good, but they're all chained together. Why? Give these people some funding to get their park up to speed. This park has the potential to be an...
