Ramona Tire — Attraction in Mission Viejo

I never thought I would have to write this review, but here I am a week later and my car caught on fire. This was my spot, my place I'd always take my car too and a place I thought I could trust, but someone needs to held responsible for this because my life could have been lost. I took my car in for an oil change on June 17th 2022 at Ramona Tire in Mission Viejo and after I left and took my car home after the job was done. Well, as I was parking the car in my garage I noticed smoke coming from my hood. I immediately called Ramona and spoke with Brian, the manager there. I explain to him the situation as I was concerned because this had NEVER happened before. He assured me because my temperature gauge was not Hot, that I had nothing to worry about and that one of the mechanics probably over filled the oil and it leaked onto the metal. I trusted him. I didn't drive my car on June 18th, but on June 19th I was going to the gym and as I was parking my car, a HUGE cloud of smoke pushed out the vents towards me inside my car! I immediately parked and started filming and then 5 seconds later a big FLAME erupted from the hood and I called the police. This was a good car, but because of the faulty oil change and Ill-advised guidance from Ramona Tire, my car is no more. If I had been driving on the fwy, I'm not even sure if I'd be alive to write this review. I just want to bring awareness to the company as well as the workers, this is completely unacceptable and I hope this review can help prevent any more situations like this...

I have been with them for 2-3 yrs now, i love the fact that I can fix my car and make payments for 6 months with zero interest. This place is almost perfect for me if not because of one incident. November of 2018 I brought my car thier and the new Manager told me my break pads needs replacements and I said: do you think I have 2 or 3 weeks to drive this because I don't think i can afford now, and he said: showing me the break pads model sample located in the frontdesk, and he said your pads is like this it's almost nothing it is risky to drive for even a week. Anyway, to cut the story short I end up taking my car home and bought parts at Amazon, my co-worker changed it and showed me the old break pads and he said you still have lots of life left in this breakpads since you're only driving so little. That dismayed me 😢. Until now I have doubts whenever I take my car for check up, another incident, I had changed oil 2 days after my engine oil is gone their worker didn't put the cap back properly and they didn't take responsibility instead cover up, the manager said: your car is old it needs engine now. I had to tow my car crying in front of the manager bec didn't have money to fix that time, while saving money i found a mechanic that fixed my car and I was able to drive it 6 months more soon as I had the money I went to Ryan automotive for engine replacement. I have been going to Ramona Tire in Mission Viejo for years, and I will continue to be a very loyal customer!! The manager and the staff are amazing and they know me by my first name, which I love. I Know that I can trust them and I can rely upon them to look out for my best interest. I have had to take my car in several times and have been under a time crunch to get it back, they have always (without exception) delivered what they promised. They have even picked me up and taken me back home when needed. I have been to other places that have tried to upsale me on items that were not needed, but I was told, that I needed. Costing me a lot of money. Ramona Tire has never done that! I can say without any doubt that I trust them completely and would never hesitate to refer them to a friend or a family member. I love the fact that I am a woman, and they have never taken advantage of that. I have taken my car in thinking something was wrong, and they have told me otherwise. An example of this would be, once I thought a had a bad tire and in fact all I needed was an alignment. I went in thinking I had to purchase tires and what I needed and received was a free alignment.
