Area Community Theatre — Attraction in Mitchell

We’ve gone to several performances through the years and have never been disappointed——until last night. Cheaper by the dozen was “painful “ to watch and we should have left at Intermission because it didn’t improve. This was their 4th performance, but they seemed very unprepared. Yes, 2 actors had a family emergency so had replacements who did their best, but that wasn’t all that was bad. Microphones were turned down so we only guessed at what they said. The actors needed help with their hands and movements. All things that should have been noticed abs corrected before their 4th performance. We brought guests and were embarrassed that all the praise we’d given the theatre was not earned...

Watched Rodgers/Hammerstein Cinderella. Cast had several good singers, acting was what you hope for from a community theater. Set was well-planned and scenes moved along without unnecessary pauses. Theater seating was comfortable and generally accessible, didn't appear to be any bad seats. Staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Tickets were in the low 20s, ...
