To reach the arch from the parking lot, just follow the Devil’s Garden Trail until you reach a bifurcation in the trail. Follow the sign to the right, which is the Pine Tree Arch Trail, down the hill and keep left until you reach this impressive ground-level arch embedded in a sandstone fin. The arch has a span measuring approximately 150 feet and is named after the various pine trees that can be seen under and around the base of the arch.

The trail to the Pine Tree Arch has great views of the Pine Tree Arch. It is an easy hike to get there. Lots of great photo spots. It is an unusual arch with opening at ground level. So you can see through arch the landscape. If it is very windy, the sand can be blown up. Best to do the hike early in the day or towards the evening. You can get some great photos here.

If you just pulled into the Devil’s Playground and have young children in tow, then Pine Tree Arch should be your first stop!

The hike to Pine Tree is really easy with only minor elevation changes and no real climbing what so ever. It’s also a great arch for kids because the entire basin is a wash area and covered in beach like sand and ample shade. It’s a great area to kick off the shoes and let kids run around while taking in the desert air!

Pine Tree isn’t one of the “must see” arches in the park, but with such a short walk- why not stop over and check out this...

The Pine Tree Arch in Arches NP is located off of the Devil's Garden trail. Before you get to Landscape Arch there will be a trail that bears to the right. Take this side trail, then the trail splits again left and right. Take the trail to the left to see Pine Tree Arch. The right trail goes to a point where you can see the Tunnel Arch, albeit from a distance. Now Pine Tree Arch is cool because you can walk right up to it and through it. It reminds me of a portal and has that look to it. So make sure you take the side trail and...
