This is a short but very rewarding little hike. The trail has a lot of fine sand so it is best to bring some hiking boots. We encountered quite a few bighorn sheep along the trail which made for some great pictures. I found it best to walk slowly along the trail to capture as many petroglyphs as possible. You walk and wonder ans are in sheer awe of how much of the rock face was written on but unfortunately due to extreme weather, some of these petroglyphs are disappearing. If you sit and close your eyes and listen to the wind, you can feel the energy, the history, the importance of what these mountains meant to the indigenous people of this land.
The only negative part of the walk is seeing how people have disrespected and defaced such a beautiful part of our history as humans.

Read moreThis hike is almost all in sand. It's a flat hike, but the sand is not always easy to walk through. There are a few spots to stop in the shade along the trail. The petroglyphs were so cool to see, but I honestly enjoyed those more than the view at the end of the trail, even though it was beautiful.
