To me the University of South Alabama (or USA as it's called) will forever be the college you go to when you aren't able to or can't afford to go to any place better. I went here from the early to mid 1990's and looking back on it all at this point in time I should've went somewhere better because be it bad luck, bad timing or whatever I didn't have the best experience in the world!
I've been to other colleges since I graduated USA and let's just say that I had a MUCH better experience with them. The teaching staff were light years ahead of many of USA's teachers and genuinely seemed interested in helping me achieve my best. I think I can count on maybe three fingers how many instructors at USA I liked. The worst problem was a lot of the instructors I had were foreigners who not only had teaching skills that were awful but you couldn't even understand them half the time! Aside from that they'd fly through the material at blistering speeds and apart from the experience I had at USA if I've heard this once I've probably heard it a billion times. There were many occasions where I feel I didn't learn anything and my feelings on that still resonate to this day. A good friend of mine's son graduated USA recently and he to agreed that many of the teachers at USA weren't exactly the best. It was like when USA hired teachers they went for the bottom of the barrel and it showed because the teaching skills of most of them left a LOT to be desired!
My advice, if you want to be a medical doctor, nurse or work in any part of the medical profession USA is your choice because the medical program is about the only thing good going for that place. As for everything else, well.....proceed at...
Read moreThis University is supposed to be a Scientific University, but there is so much promotion of ignorance on this campus. The recreational center that was built 5 years ago is already having issues. The equipment is bad and not well maintained. They have some bogus rules towards the students. The bathrooms are always dirty and need maintaining. In addition, the police presents is too much for all the crime that happens on campus. Plus when I student was killed by a police officer 3 years ago it was like all the University cared about was protecting the officer. When I leave this place I do not want anything to do with The University of South Alabama. This place is an embarrassment to Science and promotes stereotypical backwards...
Read moreA diploma mill school whose doctoral program professors do NOT lecture. They steal thousands of dollars from you to be taught nothing. No services are provided. This is theft. A nurse practitioner needs to be taught pathophysiology in order to be a safe competent practitioner. Instead, you are given a generic PowerPoint from the book, no voiceover, no guidance or any communication from the professor, and told to take a test every 2 weeks on 300 pages of info. The test is “open book” and you get two attempts. This is how they say they will produce competent providers! What a joke. They just want your money and to hell with the healthcare system in America. If you go here, you will learn...
