Modesto Car Audio Outlaws — Attraction in Modesto

I recently had a subpar experience with another local stereo shop on McHenry that I have used over the years. The guys at the other shop didn't even bother to walk out to my truck to listen to what I currently had. They quickly suggested that I buy an Alpine type X sub and an Alpine mono amp (1000 watts RMS), slapped the sub in a pre-fab box and sent me on my way after almost 3 hours. I was told the wait would be 1 hour and 15 mins tops. I was not happy with the sound at all. It was not much better than what I had before (Boston Acoustics G2 10 inch sub, Alpine mono amp), plus the new amp would shut off after 6 or 7 seven songs due to over heating. I felt like they didn't listen at all to what I had said I was looking for. I wanted hard hitting punchy bass, not deep boomy sloppy bass. They wouldn't let me return the equipment, but at least the owner swapped me out for a better amp at not additional cost. At this point, I decided to try Car Audio Outlaws. My neighbor recommended them and told me to ask for Carl. Long story short: Carl sat in my truck and listened to what I had, then he listened to what I wanted, took time to offer me a few options, gave his opinion and said he would make sure I was happy. I had never had Phoenix Gold subs before, but decided to give them a try since that's what he recommended. They built me an awesome custom box under the back seat of my crew cab F-150 and put two PG 10 inch shallow mount subs. They sound awesome! Very punchy and hard hitting-exactly what I was looking for. I am very happy with the outcome and will be recommending Carl to anybody and everybody looking for...

I love this place!!! I went in to buy bluetooth stereo and to get them installed. Needless to say I had a great experience. The first thing I noticed was how professional and friendly they were. From the time I stepped into the building, I was graciously greeted and assisted immediately. Being that I am woman I was apprehensive whether or not I was going to be taken advantage of. However, I was pleasantly surprised that wasn't the case here. I particularly loved the store manager Ernie. Ernie really took his time thoroughly explaining the numerous products to me. He carefully made sure I didn't feel overwhelmed and pressured to buy anything right away. He made me feel extremely comfortable. I also really enjoyed the installer Richard. Before I gave my car away, Ernie introduced Richard to me making sure I knew who was handling my car. They wanted me to feel assured my property was in great hands. I really enjoyed Richard. He was very friendly and professional as well. Richard did a Fantastic job!! He not only installed great lights on my car, but he was very gentle and showed great pride in his work, which showed. While I was waiting, I noticed how friendly and attentive they were with everyone. I could tell this place values of their customers. ( Its sad to say but thats not always the case anymore with businesses) I can't express enough how much I loved my experience. I appreciate everything they did for me. They're great guys with great service!! I highly recommend it...

Let me start by saying that I usually don't bother with reviews. That said, I'll try to make this brief. I went shopping a year ago for a system for my truck, and it led me to McHenry where there are 3 major audio installers within 1 mile of each other. I went to one shop, and when they basically asked me if I knew what an RCA jack was; I was a little insulted. I took my business to Car Audio Outlaws and they hooked me up with a sick system for a good price. Recently, my speakers have been going out one by one (I play pretty loud music). I went today, and within minutes they had fixed the issue with one, but when the back two didn't work they hung on to my truck for the afternoon. I went back to pick it up and asked how much I owed, and he handed me the keys. I asked what happened and he basically told me that they replaced my back two speakers because I'd blown them out. I was shocked. Excellent customer service! I'm not saying my experience is typical, but it was definitely awesome. I'll definitely be loyal to these guys...
