Talk about a VERY long Mississippi River park. Not exactly sure how many miles long this parkway is, but it feels like a Timex park ... it just keeps on going. Perfect for sitting and enjoying the river, playing frisbee in the grass, tossing a ball to your very well trained, non-biting dog or telling the kids to run and don't stop until they are tired (Highly recommend that run not be in one direction, unless you're running, too). We were visiting the Farmers Market and simply enjoying the rare and beautiful 70° November Sunday afternoon.

A great stretch along the Moline / East Moline riverfront with walking / biking trails, plenty of parking, picnic tables, benches, and playgrounds. There's even bike pump / tool stations along the route for riders to use! The area does flood almost every year these days when the river is high, but they do a good job of keep it maintained. The trail extends beyond the park in both directions if you want to walk or ride up or down the river.

I love going on walks along the water front, and this section of the Mississippi bike path is the best in view. As a college student at Western Illinois university it's super nice to be able to go on a walk in between classes if you have time. There is a big community presence throughout the park with people walking, biking, and fishing too.

Park is nice. Channel cat boat access is convenient. Bike path is well maintained in most areas. Restrooms are another nice feature. They really should add an area designated to camping with RV hookups. This could be either to the west of the river boat or in East Moline by the Hotel, or even by the boat launch area. I have to wonder who is watching everyone through the hidden surveillance cameras. Proximity to coffee shop and restaurants is also a plus. Would have earned 5 stars, but the fishing pond isn't stocked well. I've fished there 9 times already this year and although I have my fishing liscense paid for, the state seems to do nothing with those liscense fees to restock waterways. I think the entire amount from liscense fees goes to pay DNR officers to go out and fine people for other fees. How's that American? Park has excess goose excrement as well, bringing down the stars. Path and playground equipment should be pressure washed at least once or twice a week, but I think they completely rely on rain. Might be nice to have bicycle cops (at least one) riding up and down the path to control speeding e bikes. I doubt they will find funds for this in the city budget until some kid gets hit and seriously injured. Path is labeled no motor vehicles, but this...

I can't believe how much it's changed since I was a kid. It's so beautiful in summer just as it is in the winter and from day to day even hour to hour the Ole Mississippi changes, depending on the wind and boats etc that are traveling on it. Sometimes I forget how blessed we are to live so close to such an amazing waterway and instill that also in my children. Here's something to ponder... I wonder what the Mississippi would look like if there were no pollution or if we lived as the Indians did before the settlers came and did all those...

18 Feb 2018 I give it 3 stars for today, but mostly the weather's fault....the sidewalks were only partially cleared (clear patches then some covered in slush and snow). And then again 3 stars because there is a portable toilet facility available right now (normal toilets closed for winter and I can't remember a winter when they had a port-a-potty), however it is right by other bathrooms, and surrounded by a deep puddle of water. Not friendly route during the winter or after heavy rain. Otherwise love this path for running, biking, and...
