River Drive Breakfast Parlor — Restaurant in Moline

We had breakfast on Saturday March 15th. When we walked in, the sign said to wait to be seated. So, we waited... and waited. Finally, we got the servers attention and we were seated. Then, we waited some more. We had been in the restaurant for 10 minutes before we even got water. We ordered coffee and that only took 5 minutes. We then waited some more and finally got the servers attention again and we ordered our breakfast. It took quite a while but our food finally came. The omelette I ordered was good but the hash browns were cold. The omelette doesn't come with toast so I ordered toast for an extra $3.00. The toast came but it wasn't toast. It was barely warm bread. Honestly, there was no part of it toasted. It was like fresh bread. $1.50 per slice for plain old bread. I told the server and he said "sorry" and walked away. We finished eating and our server never came back. I finally flagged down another server and asked for a to go box and the bill. She never came back. After 15 minutes of waiting, we spotted our server and flagged him down. We asked for the bill and he finally brought it. My bill was $24.00 for an omelette, cold dry hash browns, two pieces of bread, and coffee. That was before the tip. Needless to say, I will not be going back. This was our first time visiting River Drive Breakfast Parlor. We had been to this location when it was a Mexican restaurant. We arrived around 9:00 am and were greeted with a friendly welcome and seated right away. We ordered their River Front Skillet with eggs over easy and Big Morning Platter was to come with bacon and 3 pancakes. The orders were a little off but were taken care of promptly and correctly, which was appreciated. The service providers were tentative and friendly. Apparently this is their second day open and had several customers coming in. The restaurant was bright and clean. People did not have to wait long before being seated. I love looking out with a river view. Being winter the views are not as beautiful but come this spring or summer views should be great! Overall, we had a great experience. Friendly environment with good food at a reasonable price. Menu had many breakfast options or lunch items depending on what you were there for. They are open from 7 am to 3 pm. My husband and I were excited to try this place out for the first time today. When we walked in it took a little while (5mins) to get seated. We got our menus and our waitress who looked busy came over to take our orders. We could hear/tell there must have been some issues the kitchen was having….we waited an hour before we just left. We were both disappointed because we are always excited to try new places in the QC and the pictures on the menu look awesome. Also previous reviews of the place were very favorably….i don’t think we would have left if we had been updated or communicated with about wait times or even some idea what was going on….we might try again...
